New 2017 Dining Plan Prices?

I am thinking the deluxe plan went down a little because you are losing desert if you use any credits for QS

If you use your credit for QS you don't get desert with that if you have the deluxe plan? We booked the deluxe plan for next year and we weren't sure we were going to keep it but after I ran the numbers it was only like $300 more than paying OOP, and that didn't include drinks (soft drinks for the adults), most places I didn't include an app, but I know my kids would love an app to start with, my younger loves carrots and salad and stuff, it also didn't include that the deluxe includes snacks and the refillable mugs, plus that price was with my older son (who is 10) ordering off the kids menu. So with all that said it doesn't make sense for us to pay OOP when the difference between the plan and OOP really isn't that much...Anyways I have figured out most of our dining and its all TS except for our 1 resort day where we just are hanging out at the resort. We are staying at AKL and are planning on eating at Mara for lunch...I saw on their menu that they have Zebra cupcakes...I was hoping they would be considered a "desert" if they aren't considered that does anyone know if they are considered a snack? Because I know my kids would love them.

Not a loss for me as I don't use any credits on QS meals when I'm on the deluxe plan. TS breakfast or lunch, snacks for the meal I miss, and a signature dinner.

Then the same logic should have applied to the QSDP since you essentially lost a dessert on that plan too. But the cost for the QSDP went up.

Thought just occurred to me that perhaps the price went down, so that when/if they make those buffets 2 TS credits, more people will be inclined to get the DxDDP. Uhmmmmm.....

But the QS plan also added a snack credit, the DxDDP already had two.

When we were at AKL in Jan, the cupcakes counted as a dessert with our QS meal at the Mara. We could also use a snack credit if we just wanted one w/o getting a meal. The giraffe cupcake was heavenly. The peanut butter brownie is life-changing, too.

Thanks for the info! Yeah all my other dining that I have will be table service but for our resort day we though it would just be better to get something quick and eat by the pool. I was hoping the cupcakes would count as a desert Bc my little 1 loves zebras and giraffes so have a zebra or giraffe cupcake would make his day lol

But come Jan 2017, your QS meal will no longer include the dessert, so you'll have to use a snack credit to get the cupcake.

Exactly. IF you use your DxDDP for a QS, you lose a dessert. The QSDP also lost a dessert since they only gave ONE snack to replace the two desserts.

However, at least with the DxDDP, you have a choice to use all your credits for TS, and therefore, not lose anything for the lower price you're paying. The QSDP not only lost one of their desserts, they have to pay more for it.

Thats sucks but I guess its ok to use our snack credits for that, lol...we usually have a SLEW of snack credits left over at the end of our trip and we use them all before we leave so we have snacks & drinks for our trip back home, lol
