OMG, the values are no longer very valuable. I priced out my package with the new rates... Rooms at values went up roughly 40 per night!!! Geez. Our family of four , yesterday the Dining plan would have been 1350, for 2014 over 1700! So, between the MAJOR room increase and the dining, we'd be paying an extra 700 dollars from this June. That seems a bit absurd!

I think the value resorts continue to be so popular, Disney sees the possibility of people upgrading to a moderate rather than pay the value price.

We're going in July next year, and our rates (AKL) went up $7/night from the same dates this year, however, they did add the weekend premium for next year, which they don't have this year for that resort and season.

But, I was just able to score a 15% AAA discount, so I'm thrilled!

I'm 75% sure We are going to rent DVC instead. It would actually be cheaper for us to stay at OKW in a nice studio and buy discounted tickets, and still get the meal plan for under 5000. Through Disney, the All Star Sports same package would be 5300.

This makes it more liukely that we will continue to use offsite time shares. Especially since we stay at least 3 weeks.

I priced out a 9 day trip in Oct. this year and next and there was only a $54 difference between this year and next (No DP). Same tickets, same room.

Maybe the time you priced became a different season - maybe something's going on in 2014 during that time that they increased the price. I priced out some values as well during the time we went in 2013 (Jan/Fed) and most were the same.

I didn't think they were too bad. We wouldn't pay for the DP, so that wouldn't affect us.

Still considering renting points for next year anyways and kids doing YES. I can't book until next spring anyways, so lots of time to do Disney math. :thumbsup2

i must have. We're going a week later in June than we had priced it out before. I guess that week put us into the prime season. It looks to be similar after all, but still would rather do the DVC and stay at a cool resort than pay the same for an All Star at this point.

I looked at last year's rates and the preferred room at All Star Sports for Presidents Day weekend was $181. Which weekend in Feb. were you checking?

It is the second weekend in February. I know there is a race but geez. $180.00 for POP is just too much.

Over the past few years they have been significantly bumping up the price of rooms and were still able to advertise "as low as XX dollars a night" when they took it one step further and bumped up the Fri/Sat rates by about 15 extra dollars.

If there had not been the +/- 30 percent discounts offered to us this past year, we very well may have stayed off site. We are looking at a possible trip in late May 2014 and the only way we will stay at Pop is if we get a substantial discount.

Our paychecks have not been going up the past few years, but Disney has really been running the prices up on their rooms. I guess we just may have to get used to "no more EMH for us"!

I totally agree with everything to you said. My husband I were just saying the same thing this morning. They have gone up so much each year and our pay checks haven't. I can't see us going twice a year like in the past. We will be lucky to go once a year.

Same here, but I am balking at even the $140 per night for POP in mid Jan (yes MLK weekend). I think we will be staying offsite for the first time as that is a lot for a value room. :goodvibes

I priced out a 9 day package with 6 day tix yesterday and it was $3200 with no dining at POR for 4 of us and today its $3453 and adding the dining bumps it up $1300. we love to eat so hoping for free dining!

I just went on basically rebooked this years trip for 2014. Same week , last week of February , wife, two kids and me. Four day park hopper , only difference is POP this time instead of all star sports, last trip dd was 2 so free park. This time we have to pay for her , air fair same from maine. Last time we got free dining so I didn't add that this time, for comparison. Last time we spent $3250 ish with PP+ and trip insurance. This time minus pp+ and insurance it was $3370ish. This time I'm paying for DD's park tickets so that is an add on. We got a discount on PP+ last time and the free dining, but I don't think it really went up that much. The $100 or so we spent on PP+ and the trip insurance was about $175 or so is about what her tickets will likely cost so for about a $125 or so more for four people and to change to POP which is more than all stars isn't bad to me.

The deluxes didn't go up by that much, although they are already overpriced so I am glad they didn't bump them much more. Compared to the same season last year, WL went up $4-$8 / night. Not too bad a hike.

I booked room-only to give me a chance to purchase discounted tix through UT and to not have to pay the balance until we arrive. I think every little bit helps. I'm also hoping to get a pin, GP offer or hoping my dates will be available for a CM F&F discount (my cousin has offered!).

Priced out 7 nights at the GF Sugar loaf and for 2 adults and one kid in February it is $7000- ugh!! Looking forward to discounts (fingers crossed).

is there (I know it's a long shot) a handy dandy place (like allears but last time I checked the 2014 rates were not on there) with a chart of prices for rooms in 2014? I know I can go to the "new" site and plug in dates but that new site is such a pain I find myself avoiding it like the plague.

Mousesavers usually posts the chart that SmallWorldVacations prepares. Since the rates just came out, it may take a little bit of time, but based on previous years, I'm sure they will post it.
