New to renting. Can I rent 5 banked pts. to anyone? Or are they useless?

You can. However, you can't transfer, so someone would have to transfer the points to you (add to your five) to give enough points to stay somewhere.

It can happen, but for $50 (5 pts x $10) I dont know if its worth it?!

Banked points expire at the end of the use year into which they were banked.

Banked points cannot be transferred to another member.

Do you have any trips scheduled before the end of the use year? If so, call MS and ask the CM to "reallocate" the points used for the reservation so that the 5 banked points are used and 5 current use years are returned to your account. You can then either transfer the current use year points to another member or, subject to banking deadlines, bank the 5 current use year points.

5 points all by themselves are "pretty much useless". You would have to add more points to the 5 to have enough to make a reservation. You could use the resulting reservation yourself or rent that to someone else. If you are only going to rent out one night, it may not be worth the hassle and you may have to take less $ per point to "get rid of it". If renting a 1-night reservation is your only alternative, my advice is to just let the 5 points go.
