It started 01/06/2012 and if you prepurchase a $1000 gift card, must be at least 21 days prior to your planned arrival, then you will receive a very nice framed pin set as a bonus too. There are no lower denomination or higher denomination gift cards that are a part of this promotion. If you are interested in making such a purchase, go http://www.disneyurl.com/disneyparksshoppingcard and take advantage of the deal.

Beware of the fine print:

This brings up an interesting question. Can you pay for your entire trip in Gift Cards???

Apparently not with this particular gift card.

Cafefully read the website before you purchase this. I found this offer in December, I purchased a $1,000 Disney Parks Merchandise gift card, and paid $20 for this frame set to be sent to my home.

There is a limit of 2 per family, and this can only be used for merchandise. Not food, not resort reservations, not tickets, etc.

However, the frame is beautiful. I thought the pins were cut to the shape of the castle, but it is pins placed on a black mat, with a cut-out overlay of the castle.

It is a very nice piece. I wanted to straighten some of the pins, but the back of the frame is sealed off by paper attached to the frame. I don't want to accidentally destroy it, so I left it as is. It is a nice piece.

Since we are going to WDW in December, and always spend lots on souvenirs, this was a no-brainer for us. The frame is VERY NICE!!

I guess we're talking about two different things. This is a nice piece, but I was actually talking about the Disney GIFT cards. This thread made me think that IF I could pay for my trip with Disney Gift Cards, I could buy them through my nephew's school so they would get a percentage back. I looked on the card itself andit says it is valid at WDW resoort but it doesn't have restrictions on it. Hmmm, interesting thought!

THIS gift card that the OP is talking about can ONLY be used for merch. All other Disney gift cards can be used all over property. I always use gift card to pay off my room balance, tickets, food purchases, etc.

Does your card have an expiration date on the front??

This is very tempting.. especially since I have several trips planned and could just utilize this card... cough cough...or justify my purchases.

And I do like the framed set!

From the Terms, it looks like some cards might actually expire.

I just received my picture today. Received shopping card a few days ago. The frame makes the picture look better than it is. It has about 70 pins in it. The pins look like they're intact and could take it apart if you wanted just the pins.

Just remember to keep your Disney gift cards. If you end up needing or getting a refund for whatever reason, it will be put back on the same cards it came off.

Thanks for THIS tip!!! I would not have even THOUGHT about that!!! You guys are ALWAYS looking out for me!! I appreciate it!! :grouphug:

You're welcome! Every now and then I read posts from people who paid off their trip with a bunch of Disney gift cards, threw them out (or lost them) - and then had to cancel. Not nice to find out after the fact they needed to keep them. :scared1:

When I called with a question about the shopping card, I was told to keep the paper it came with just in case it was lost because I would need proof of ownership to replace it, not just the numbers on back.
