Never wanted to ask a refillable mug question but...

I usually avoid refillable mug threads like the plague but I have a question that I don't think will cause any conflict...of course, I could be wrong, which is why I am asking

We are going to be at the WL (tomorrow!!!!) and will likely get the mugs. Later in the week we will be at Poly Concierge where we obviously won't need to get mugs since we'll have the lounge. But could we put our coffee from the lounge into our WL mugs to bring back to the room since they will hold more?

I can't see why not since the beverage you would be putting in it would be free anyways. Check with the concierge though, they might have an issue with other guests seeing your mugs and thinking they are useable at any locations or on subsequent visits.

I wondered the same thing! We will be @ GF first non-concierge and will probably buy mugs there. Then we will move to AKL CL. I would think it wouldn't be an issue b/c it would only be in the lounge. It's not like I'd head down to Mara to refill my GF mug there.

I suppose you could each get a couple cups of coffee and transfer it to your mugs in your room? This way no one would know?

That's a great question. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with it. You will be purchasing the mugs to use at the WL and will receive free drinks at the Poly con. It shouldn't matter what you put your coffee or soda in. I'm like the OP, it's not like you are going to be walking all over the Poly refilling you WL mug up. You are paying more for the special services of that floor. You definately should be able to use your mug to take advantage of those services.

I think the fact that the mugs are the refillable ones is really unrelated to whether you can use them in the concierge lounge. I would imagine you could bring your favorite UT Volunteers mug from home, and use it in the concierge lounge, no harm no foul.

It's funny that this came up. We just split a stay between the Grand Floridian and the Beach Club. We bought mugs at GF and then switched over. We were going to buy mugs at the BC and got talking with a manager in the food area called the Marketplace. He said to just keep using our GF mugs and don't buy two sets during one stay. I don't know if they are consistent with that but it was nice not buying more mugs. We have too may from all our trips anyway.

Since you've paid for Concierge, I think you could pour the coffee in your shorts if you wanted to.

I would not advise it however, because the coffee is usually hot.

The complaint people have is when the beverage is not perceived as "paid for" under the rules of the refillable mugs. Clearly you have paid for the coffee.

The rules are that you can only use the mug in the hotel you got it, and only during that stay. So, technically, you aren't allowed to use it at the Poly.

As for my opinion, I couldn't care less if people use their mugs year after year, so if you wanna fill up at the Poly, have at it.

Hehe... Well let's remember, the restrictions aren't on the use of the mug, but rather on the use of the refilling stations. Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to use your refillable mugs once you got home!

I'm pretty sure the conceirge station isn't a restricted-use refillable mug refilling station. If so, you just KNOW there will be at least a few folks who bought refillable mugs who will demand access to the concierge lounge as a result!

I'm not the OP but OH MY would that not go over well. Forget Disney....my husband and one of our good friends who will be at AKL CL with us have strict rules about UT mugs etc. The punishment would be far too severe for that. I'd take my chances that there is a "mug nazzi" hanging out in the conc lounge who may call the Disney police to come and bring me to Disney jail for using my GF mug at AKL before I would subject myself to the punishment that I would be subject to for drinking from a UT mug at any time of place. We are UGA people you see.

In all seriousness, I don't think it will be an issue. As someone mentioned, the issue seems to be using your mug to keep from having to PURCHASE soda/coffee etc. at a resort other than where you purchased the mug and/or on a trip other than the one where you purchased the mug. The drinks in the lounge are included in the cost of your room already so they probably don't care what container you use (though they may frown on the shorts thing or the stick your head under the tap thing I've seen some teens do at a local establishment here ). I figure I'll ask the conc CM who checks us in if this is a no-no. If it is, I'll oblige and hide my mug away so that no one has to come bail me out of Disney jail.

The worst possible thing that could happen is that they would ask you not to you use them, which would be no big deal.

Nobody in the Polynesian concierge lounge is going to care what you pour your coffee into! Use your WL mugs and do not give it a second thought!

Enjoy the Wilderness Lodge AND the Polynesian concierge, they are both wonderful resorts!!!

P.S. As much as you thought you'd never post a refillable mug question is as much as I thought I'd never post a reply on a refillable mug thread!!

Even us die hard VOL fans are having an extremely hard time holding a UT mug let alone drinking from one this season! Especially after the Vandy game! I believe I will just stick with my WL mug! JK, I love my VOLS through thick and thin. This has been a hard year on us, but we'll make it through. Heads are rolling in Knoxville! To the Georgia fan, I completely understand where you are coming from. I could not hold a UGA mug let alone sip from one!!!! Good luck in Atlanta. I hope ya'll win it. Seriously, if it can't be us, it might as well be ya'll. As long as it isn't Bama!!!!!!
