Okay...I've been to WDW many, many times growing up. However, one thing my parents never let us do was to go to the MK to see the fireworks. They really didn't think it was worth it to fight the crowds just to see some fireworks, and I didn't really mind anyway. Sometimes we happened to see them from the resort, and I always thought they were nice to look at, but I was glad I wasn't surrounded by droves of people which would make it a nightmare to leave. But now after reading certain posts about the fireworks, which I have found are called "Wishes", it seems like it might be a bit more than I thought. Someone said that they are synchronized? And I don't know how many countless people mentioned you see Tinkerbell fly by and they all thought it was great. Is Tinkerbell part of the fireworks, or is she a prop that somehow flys overhead? how does it work? Please tell me what I'm missing out on! I just thought they were regular old fireworks, but if there is more to them then I think I will have to try it! Besides, we have the Dream Maker Silver Package which I think comes with fireworks vouchers...maybe we can get a good spot!

By the way, we have been to Illuminations which I always thought were pretty awesome...it was just the MK fireworks we never went to.

If you have ever experienced Disney magic and know what it is, then you will love WISHES. Yes, the fireworks are synchronized to music and narration. Tinkerbell is not a prop but a person who flies from the castle. It's hard to explain why they are better, but they are.

Crowds? I felt like I floated out--I was so happy when it was over. I didn't mind the crowds or how late it was or how long we had to wait at the TTC...

...it was pure Disney magic.

I felt exactly the same way you did about the fireworks at Disney. I could see fireworks anywhere, I wasn't going to waste valuable time watching them.

Well, we saw Wishes twice in December and it was spectacular. I was just mesmerized. The music and the creative fireworks and the castle, it was just great! Please, do not miss it. You will not be disappointed.

BTW, if you look at the castle, there is a wire that comes from one of the towers on the right down onto a rooftop in Tommorowland. At the beginning of the show, just after the opening narration, a real person slides down the wire. She is dressed as Tinkerbell and has lights all over her. It is really cute and a highlight of the show.

Saw Wishes in February and thought it was great! Not quite up to Illuminations, but still very good! IMHO Go see it!::yes::

YES!! Wishes is MUCH better than regular fireworks!!!! Wishes is just so magical - you can't miss it! We are making a special trip to WDW in July because I convinced dh that all I really want for my birthday is to go to MK and watch WISHES!!

When we saw them in Dec. I just had chills the whole time - they are beautiful!

Wishes is truly worth seeing - no matter what types of crowds you have to fight. I have never been a big fireworks person - just some exploding color in the sky. But this is soooooo different. The music - and even more so - the songs in the children's voices. It is worth it even if you just stand there and close your eyes and just listen to the sounds. It is truly magical.

Wishes is AMAZING!! I never dreamed a fireworks show could be so spectacular. The music and narration just make it wonderful!! Don't miss it!!!

What time does the fireworks show start? We will be there this weekend but have an 18 month old and don't know if he will make it...

I used to think that fireworks were just fireworks until I saw Wishes.

See it. You won't regret it.

If the crowds have you worried, watch Wishes from the train station platform. You have to get there about 2 hours early, but you can always send some of the party to the bakery. After the show, just zip down the stairs and out the exit. The show is a little better closer to the castle, but just getting to see Wishes is an awesome experience. It was my favorite ending show this past February.

I wondered about seeing Wishes also. We will be there the end of this month until 7/9 and maybe we should see this too!!!!!
Is it every night or just certain nights?

We saw Wishes three weeks ago and it was AWESOME!!! We went back a few nights later to see it again, it was SO good! You need to be in the park so you can hear the music/narration. I'm telling you....I cried....it was THAT good!!

I think it's even better than Illuminations, which now I've seen so many times that it isn't all that interesting anymore...JMHO!!

I thought why fight the crowds now i know why we saw it at Easter it was graet well worth the crowds.

I experienced Wishes for the first time March 2004. It was everything that everyone said it would be. It was beautiful and very magicical. The part I enjoyed the most was watching my DN age 9. His facial expressions were priceless. He was in awe the entire time. But with or without kids, its worth it. Just don't plan on leaving right away after. Let the crowds go and you hang back and relax until the park clears a little.
