I agree, I think cutting out Universal is the way to go. I, like you, really wanted to take the kids in our group (all HP fans) too - but budget was a major issue, along with time - as we can't extend our trip either and weren't willing to give up any of our other plans. We're going to be running ourselves ragged as it is!
I agree. I think it was a good move. We went to Universal to do HP in June and it was cool but nothing I would suggest spending that much more money on. Plus, the crowds are HORRIBLE. We barely got to enjoy it because you had to wait in over hour long lines for EVERYTHING, even to eat and shop. I would wait until the hype dies down a little and then check it out when you have more time and can cut something else out of your itinerary on a different trip.
You made a good decision in nixing Universal. Now you get 2 days to spend with your family in Sea World and the joy of your DD's face as she swims with dolphins
