Never had a pin code before

I did what others suggested, since I am planning a trip to DL in December, I went to their web site and logged in and looked at various combinations of room and tickets.

So I get an email with a pin code! :)

But it is for WDW, for the dates I will be in California (already have air tickets)! :headache:

Is it possible to use a WDW pin at DL?

You did my Saved Offers trick? Well, it worked...sort of!

Gee - they must be running out of DLR PIN's to send out right now. I would wait another month or two and try again. I have a feeling DLR has a limited number of PIN's they send out which are attached to certain rooms. They have probably reached their limit for the current offer. Once this one expires, there will probably be more. My "claim by" date for my October PIN is July 20. Other people might have a later expiration date for theirs. But I would just wait a while and try again.

No - can't use a WDW code at DLR.

Yes, that is what the online chat person just typed to me.

It might be that they are out of DL codes, or maybe their system just messed up.

I was wondering if maybe WDW was trying to steal DL business! That would be really cool for us if they got into a bidding war for our business. But I don't suppose there is any way that would happen.

Oh, and mine says book by 7/28, for a Dec trip. So I will try again in late July.

this might be a silly question, but i can't figure out how to "save" trips on the disney website, any help would be great :)

Make sure you create a "My Disneyland" account on the DLR website first, and that you are signed into it.

Then go into the Planning/Hotel section and plug in the dates at the hotel you want. Wait for the system to generate your "offer," which is really just the rack rates or whatever general discount they may be offering to everyone.

Somewhere at the bottom of the offer there will be a tab to "Save" it. Click Save and it will be stored in your My Disneyland account. You can even go into your My Disneyland account and double check your Saved Offers to be sure it's there.

Then leave the offer there and don't do anything. Don't book anything. Disney will see that you showed an interest in staying onsite and most likely send you an e-mail or regular mail with a PIN code.

EXCEPT for the fact that now, more and more reports are coming through that people are getting e-mails without PIN codes at all! Or, like aurorae, you might get a PIN code for WDW instead of DLR!:rotfl2: Or you might get a PIN that does not cover the dates you want (like mine!).

At first, this trick was working like clockwork, almost. But I suspect that there were only a certain number of PIN codes to go around, and DLR has probably reached its PIN limit on the rooms attached to this offer.

So you may have to wait for this current PIN wave to cycle out and expire and then try saving something. I have a feeling that a lot of folks who save their offers now are going to either get a PIN they cannot use or no PIN at all. We may have to wait a month or two for some of the current PIN's to expire.

Perhaps there is more vacancy in the WDW resorts as opposed to the DL resorts, so they are trying to steer business to Florida.

Just a thought.

Thanks for answering :) I don't need a pin until next year anyways, but I just couldn't figure it out, and google didn't help either, it just told me how to save money for a Disneyland vacation :rotfl: I will say I wouldn't mind a pin to wdw either, as I love both parks!(I am a cp alumni, so mk is my home, but I grew up going to DL and can't pick a favorite!) DH and I want to go make a trip to DL though since that is where we first started like each other when we were 15.

I just got a code using "the trick"! At first I thought is wasn't going to work. It was a week or maybe two weeks ago I put in and "saved" a hotel stay for early October. Later that day, Disney Destinations sent me an email about PPH, but just more info about the hotel, a reminder thingie. Then today I got a similar email, and a few minutes after that, the email with a PIN code for all three hotels! The dates are for Oct. 16-31, and it's $163 for PP, $186 for DH, and $247 for GC.

So, don't give up!

I'm not positive we can go (just optimistic), so now I need to track down their cancellation policy...

I also have done the saved offers trick and just got a email for WDW as well it had a pin but allowed me to share it on facebook, so I think mine was more generic then a personal pin.

I just got my first PIN code the other day too! However mine came by mail and was for a complete vacation package for WDW. I, too, went online and played around with dates in September for Disneyland and got a PIN for WDW, which is a bit of a bummer since there is no way I can financially finagle a WDW trip instead of my September Disneyland trip (that is already paid for). I'm hoping that maybe I'll get another PIN code for next September when a trip to WDW would be way more feasible.

I just got one for December. I had saved a trip (or maybe two) on the Disneyland site for December 17 - 21 a few weeks ago. I got a PIN code in the postal mail yesterday for stays beginning on December 1 - December 17. It was $163 for PP, $186 for DH, and $247 for GC. Still not sure if I can talk DH into spending that, but I have until July 23 to convince him!

This happened to me too! I keep getting WDW ones.

This also happened to me...getting the codes for dates that don't cover when I'm looking to go. In a way I'm just happy that your trick worked. :) Just need to be diligent about trying for DL ones. :)

just an update to this older thread. I gave up waiting for a pin code for my early December trip, so yesterday went online, did some comparison, and ended up reserving at a good neighbor hotel through Costco. Got the Fairmont for $110, with the extra stuff Costco includes. The Fairmont has free wifi and free parking, both of which we will use, and no free breakfast, which is less important for us.

Anyway, for the days of my stay, the rate for PPH (for example) was $250 a night (Expedia, Costco, Hotels.com, Disneyland.com)

Shortly after that, I got an email from Disney saying "check out this magical offer!"

The offer is for the weekend before we arrive, and for the week after through Christmas. The rate for PPH is $315! Some deal, more expensive than the normal rates. I assume that is because it is for the high Christmas season days. But I sure didn't click on the "book now" button!

OH I WANT THAT PIN CODE FOR PP!!!! LOL
We need a room Oct. 20-21
Just gave it a try....

How long does it take to get a PIN? I've had like 2 things saved on My Disneyland and it's been there since last month and I never got a PIN. =\ Maybe they don't have any for my dates. (9/28-10/5)

I got a pin code in the mail a few weeks ago covering your dates but not mine. Want the Oct 16-30 pin as we're going Oct 24-30

Finally got a pin code in my email for our time in Nov-Dec called and was bummed that it was no different then the price that is now on the DL site. I thought it would have been a little cheaper. Oh well guess I will now be holding out for the AP Rate
