Never ever will I take my mother with us again...

And by the way, no we can't afford to go every weekend, and yes we have made a lot more trips there than normal but that's because we've been trying to find someplace to live, and making sure that Kari can transfer to the HD up there. And other things in life than just going to disney. But usually we get a site for 30$ which is better than most hotels. And it's nice camping, and little more cozy.

Ok to the OP:

Thankyou for coming back and filling us in on the rest of the story. It can't be easy when everyone is having a go at you (me included). I think the original post came out wrong as it was put as an isolated incident, and in the wider context of the whole story, your frustrations are understandable. I also had no idea how young you were and what your life entails, as you sounded maybe a little older (you can't help picturing posters in your head sometimes) ;)

What I would say is: think about what you post before you post it, and give us a bit more background. Sorry to say, you are still wrong for turning up late, but it sounds like she wouldn't have been where she was supposed to be anyway.

I hope things can get easier for you and that you find your own life, with plenty of happiness and pixiedust. good luck with the move, :grouphug:

Well.. I don't know.. I wish you the best of luck and glad kari got out of it but I still think it was irresponsible to wait until last minute to be completely prepared for the speech... and leaving when your dog has just gone missing rubs me wrong big time. Then again I'm in animal rescue so people who lose pets and go on with their lives, too busy to make phone calls, put up posters, post ads and search until the animal is found truly have a mindset I will never understand nor will I ever TRY to understand.
Am I right in assuming your mother cares full time for your wheelchair bound brother whose wheelchair you admit is difficult to manuever when going anywhere?

I just didn't feel ANY better reading this post.. I'd never rush my mother to "put the things she wants in a garbage bag because there is no room for her things" or get upset if she couldn't find her purse.

Still sounds like a selfish weekend to me. And I normally don't even bother responding to posts like this but this post REALLY upset me for some reason. Maybe it's because I have so much respect and love for my mother.. UNCONDITIONALLY and there is nothing in this world that would cause me to complain about her as you have in this post. Life is too short.

CinRell took the words right out of my mouth. Everything she said above is exactly how I feel.

My mother is 75 years old, and there is nothing bad that I could say about her. Yes, I do have a few (and I mean VERY FEW) gripes, but I air them with only one person: my husband. After reading your "explanatory post," I don't feel right either. Definitely smacks of poor planning and selfish motives on your part.

okey ......calm down everyone.......this is a trip report board----- not a you done wrong board

Likewise, it's not a moan about your mother board.

Ok wait....do i understand this right...your dog is MISSING and you STILL went to WDW? Forget the trip, whatever happened to the dog? :dog:

If getting Kari to class on time was a priority, you should have been at the meeting spot on time, not chatting with Cast Members! Kari should have had her assignment completed and ready to go before you left home, instead of finishing it at the last minute, ESPECIALLY on an assignment worth half her grade! If your mother was at your pre-arranged spot at 12:30, then you had already kept her waiting for at least 30 mins. Sounds like she got tired of waiting for you. You would be better served to take responsibility for your own bad choices, and misplaced priorities instead of blaming your mother. She may be lazy and irresponsible, but it sounds like you are rude and inconsiderate.

We told her, we'll meet you at DTD at the christmas store at 12:30-1pm.

there ya go.

If life is too short then why are you getting upset about something on a Disney disscussion board? You forget that sometimes people just have to vent, I am sure the OP loves her mother very much, why the heck else would she make meals for her daily and take her to WDW? sometimes life just gets rough and you have to vent your frustration.

I also agree with this! Why are you bashing your poor mom on a trip reports board?

Well I have to say your a lucky one then..What if life wasnt so rosey and neither was your Mother. All parents are not good people. All the OP was doing was a little venting. It is wrong for a parent to expect a child to play the role of parent and sad. It takes away the youth of the child...and 21 is too young to run your parents life. Your crass comments and rude response is unsensitive and out of line.

I wouldn't particularly care to stand at one store for 45 minutes personally when there IS so much to do there.

what I am saying is why is it so horrible to be in the MASSIVE Christmas store for 30 minutes?
