Help! I want to make a scrapbook when we return from our trip but I don't even know where to start. I have been in scrapbook stores before and was overwhelmed by the amount of stuff. Stickers, punches, papers

Is there a book that you can recommend to get me started?

Thanks!

I posted something like this not to long ago and read a lot of stuff about creative memories. I went to a consultant and she helped me get started, showed me some wonderful page layouts and how to do things.

I would say get in touch with one and get some great ideas on how things work and go from there. You can do a consultant search at creativememories.com

I visited with mine (first time meeting her or having one) last night and I got tons of great info and I feel really good about it.

Good luck to you.

Thanks for the information. I'll try to find a consultant.

Welcome to this wonderful hobby!
Cm is a good place to start but not the only way! Their tools are fantastic.
To get more ideas or information check around and see if you have any local scrap book stores (LSS) you can take classes and get some good ideas there too. Also Mike's and ACM have classes.
Start with the basics and then branch out.
I tell anyone who is started to go easy on supplies. It is also known as the collectors hobby...Now I try really hard to match my pictures to my supplies.

Punches are fun but I think many of us have them and don't use them or went with a die cut machine. Check out the one of the first post on here it gives lots of information.
But more important is to have fun!

This is my broken record response...:p but I believe in it. Find a friend in your area that scraps. Chances are pretty good that there is someone in your circle already - watch for those moms at school events, Scouts, etc that ALWAYS have their camera out - and ask them if they scrapbook. I learned more from working with a "veteran" than any other way.

Plus it is fun. We are so busy these days that the opportunity to sit and "visit" as my neighbor calls it is limited. We need these support groups.

I opened this thinking you were going to say how it never ends. Just when you think you're getting close, you get more film developed!! LOL!
Maybe I shouldn't have told you that...
Anyway, I agree that finding a group is a good way to go. You can see a variety of styles and scrappers are usually willing to let newbies use their equipment until you get your own.
I tell people to start easy and basic. Don't overwhelm yourself or your pages. You'll find your own style as you go and it is ever-evolving.
