Never Doing Disney Without The DDP Again Report!

Hello neighbor---

I have been to Disney many many times, but let me tell you the difference in staying on-site compared to off-site is as different as night and day!! I love being on site with the DDP!! I make sure I go to the expensive restaurants and order the most expensive delicious meal, it is great to not worry about money--We love Le Chef it is must everytime we go to Disney--althought at this point I do not have reservations for my next trip, but I am sure we will end up going!!

Awesome reviews and I look forward to hearing more!!

Kona Cafe is one of my favorite breakfast places--If you are a coffee drinker, the coffee is great and the Tonga Toast is awesome!

Wonderful reviews and your pictures are just great!
I need some tips on posting pictures - mine are either too big or too small!!!!!!!!! ARG! Plus I was laughing at your way of achieving 10 posts .... :rotfl:

Glad you liked The Wave (is it The Wave or just Wave???) -- another reviewer was not so flattering but I know sometimes it takes a bit for everything in a new restaurant to fall into place. The steak looked wonderful ... and ... ok - the chocolate martini sounded good too!

Wish I was going back to WDW sooner -- but give me some food porn while I am waiting! :thumbsup2

Whispering Canyon Cafe was such a blast, My fiance knew about asking for a bigger straw and she played along with us throughout dinner.
Call me dumb or curious makes no diference .....but why did he have to ask for a bigger straw?!? :confused3 I'm going to Disney for the first time in August and Whispering Canyon is one of my ADRs so I want to know why I need to ask for the big straw, .

LOL I was wondering the same thing as I have never been to WCC either.

DisneyGirl0102: Staying onsite made the biggest difference, I will never stay offsite again! We tried Le Chefs de France this trip and absolutely loved it, we will definetly be going back next trip.

SnwflkCts: Glad your enjoying the reviews, I actually couldn't find another way except to post 10 times for it to let me post a picture. I went to photobucket.com and uploaded my pictures onto it, then copied the IMG code under the picture once it is uploaded and pasted it into the message and then it appeared. I hope this helps, this is the first time I've done this before too!

samiet620 and Michelle and Aaron: When we walked in we saw people with huge green straws scattered throughout the restaurant and for some reason he desperately wanted one and so he said his straw was too small, and she gave him the long green one. She was funny, telling me things like, "See you didn't need to spend all that money on vacation, all he wanted to make him happy was a giant straw!" :rotfl2: They do other funny odd things, if you ask for ketchup they will make you get up with them and scream that you need ketchup and when you have it and someone wants it you need to bring that person the 8-10 bottles of it. We had a good time, I think most would as long as you go along with it.

Thank you to everyone reading! More tomorrow!

Great report so far! We are also big fans of the DDP -- bought it last May and it made our trip more enjoyable and relaxing, and we are going for free dining this September. The DDP works perfectly with our vacation style.

Really glad to see another good review of The Wave; we took a chance and made an ADR for dinner there in September. I am really tickled about the way the desserts are served -- I am ALL ABOUT dessert, but can never make up my mind which one I want. So getting 3 mini tasting servings of three different desserts is perfect for me! :goodvibes I gave up a 1900 PF breakfast for dinner at The Wave because dinner at a monorail resort fit in better with our touring plans that day (morning at TL and afternoon and evening at MK). Looking forward to reading more :thumbsup2

Thank you to all who are reading!
Today I'm going to talk about the Grand Floridian Cafe. We had dinner here and were seated ahead of our ADR. We took some pictures of the inside of The Grand Floridian before we checked in.

We didn't order any appetizers here. I had called ahead of time and ordered a white chocolate cake for my fiance's birthday to be served at dinner. The cost was $25 that was added onto the bill. I had really wanted the white chocolate Mickey I had seen in pictures on here, but the woman told me that I could only order it if I was staying at The Grand Floridian. I went to the bathroom during the beginning of the meal to make sure everything was in place and they told me everything was, but you'll see what happened later. My fiance decided on the shrimp and prosciutto penne pasta, which he loved.

I ordered the salmon. It was so good I wanted to lick the plate clean. The sauce it was in was so yummy.

For dessert (we ordered desserts because we were on the DDP) my fiance and myself both ordered the chocolate fondue and since they knew it was his birthday from me they came out singing and had Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate.

They even took a picture of him and then later gave it to us of him on his birthday. Unfortunetly the waiter then brought out the check without any cake, and I had to pretend to use the bathroom once more to let the front know, they were very sorry and told me the cake would be out right away.
Apparently they never told my poor server about the cake. :confused3 The cake was sooooo yummy, I dislike white chocolate and I couldn't eat enough of this cake. The whole cake was layered in thick pieces of white chocolate and the inner frosting layer was white chocolate as well.

The food was great there and the servers were so great on his birthday, singing and giving us a picture. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and would definetly come back.

Not alot of chatter about the Grand Floridian Cafe.

I have ADR here already..I'm sold!!!!!!!

The salmon might be my selection..Thx.:rotfl2:

Oh yum! Everything looks good. I'd have a hard time choosing between the two entrees you guys had.

Btw, love your bright pink Crocs.

Great updates. The Wave looks really good, I'm now trying to work out if I can fit it in our next trip.

Glad you enjoyed the GFC.:goodvibes We actually dined there last August when it was temporarily hosting Cinderella and her friends while Park Fare was being renovated. Anyway, I had the shrimp pasta just like your fiance and absolutely love it! DS9 had the kids' salmon which he enjoyed also. We went for Cinderella, but everyone in our party enjoyed their food and the atmosphere and our waitress were lovely.:thumbsup2

This is what WDW is all about! Pure fun, and enjoying yourselves! Glad to see a great positive review! We've been doing WDW for 33 years now, hope you enjoy 33 more!
