Never did a "Value" Resort before/Any Good ?? Nice? Still Disney-ish?? Which One ?

I've stayed at the AS Music once, and though it's further away from the parks so the busses take a little longer, I had no problems with it at all! It was like a nice motel, except with a theme! :) The room was clean and comfortable, the food court was nice too. We had four adults in one room and none of us had any complaints about it. I would heartily recommend it as long as you're looking for a comfortable clean place to stay on property without the frills.

Well, only being able to stay either off site or one of the Values, and only did Sports last year (Movies for upcoming Sept. trip).

My DS8 is a football fanatic (he obsesses over football, present and history). He was in heaven!!!! Even though we stayed in the Homerun bldg. we hung on the "football field" when we were at the resort and not in the pool.

I am glad to hear that you liked Sports. We are staying there in July.

We would stay in a value again. We were at ASMo last April. Clean, quiet, fun. So the pool doesn't have a slide. My swimming boys loved jumping in and out and just swimming, they even tried out the pool down in the Mighty Ducks section (long walk from Toy Store). Lots of chairs by the pool.

Great value overall. Pick the theme you think your family will like.

If any of you like sports you should be pleased.

Being in HomeRun we were next to a pool. There were many kids there, many for LaCrosse, but no problems at all. I sleep like the dead when I am tired and was never woke up once.

My DS8 hit it off with many other kids on the football field and in the pool, and became buddies with most of the lifeguards. He didn't bother them, but if he was unsure of a rule, etc, he would ask them. I think they appreciated that. One rule was to shower off, and he went to go ask about the showers as I was setting up my chair to lounge.

Several years ago we decided to forgo a sidetrip on the way home from disney and spend an extra 2 days at Disney- so we stayed at the ALL Star Music resort. Having just come from the Polynesian- we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed our stay. The oversized icons are amusing. The kids got balloons at check-in. The rooms were much smaller than those of deluxe and moderate- but were okay. The pools were nice and big so they weren't too crowded. We were at the rear of the park so it was a bit of a hike to the food court. We also had a rental car so we didn't have to rely on All Star buses.

All in all though we enjoyed it very much. :wizard:

Thanks for all the respones......I love reading all of them. I really learn alot from these DIS Boards.
NEXT, where do I get some of these "codes" to get a room discount ???? I always hear about them, how do I get one ??? Please keep sending me any feedback, and comments....including comments on adding Dining.
Thank you !!! :wave2:

Stayed at PO Riverside(then Dixie Landings). Then Ft Wilderness Cabins (Gorgeous).
Want to try more economical trip. How are Value All-Star Resorts???
Please provide comments & feedback ! Which one is the best ??? We're hardly ever in our room anyways, is it good for me, DH and 2 DD's ages 4 & 7 ??
Thanks for all help in assisting in making up my mind! :cloud9:

If you have just boys, I'd say the Sports theme would most appeal, if you have girls or a mix, then the Movies. I've stayed at both and for the money it's a great value. Yes, you feel very disneyish, especially at the movies (e.g., Buzz Lightyear props). My kids really, really enjoyed them both especially at those ages. The music one and the Pop Century don't do it for me.

By the way, the staff sqeegies (sp?) the deck chairs every morning (I'm an early bird) so I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the resort.

Still Need to Know Where to get these "codes" I hear of to get a discount !
Any Ideas! :lovestruc

I would like to know this as well. I have a feeling they are just posted on this board when they become known but perhaps someone else could clarify.

Our first value was POP last year. The kids loved it. It was a fun resort.

Still Need to Know:
How is the weather for Jan 28 thru Feb 4th 2006 ??? Any Guess??
AND:
Still where to obtain a "Code for Discounts" !
AND
an Adult Question, can we purchase Beer and/or wine anywhere at POP to take back to our room & keep in fridge to unwind after the kids are sleeping?? Does the "gift shop" or whatever sell bottled beer and wine??
Thanks A Big Ole' Disney Bunch for All Your Replies !

Bellenbuzz, you might want to start separate threads for some of your questions. You are more likely to get the responses you are looking for. :flower:

A) Looks like the average high in late January is about 75 (from my 2003 Passporter)
B) Codes can be found at mousesavers.com
C) Passporter says you can buy alcohol at "most resort general stores".
HTH!
