Hi! We have never cruised before and my mom wants to take me on one for my 18th birthday  We have APs and go to WDW a few times a year. Should we cruise Disney or Carnival???

Are there many people around my age on Disney cruises? Also, if we do Disney we are definatly going to need any kind of discount or codes...any help on those would be great :D
My birthday is April 1st if that helps any.

Thanks

I can't help you with Carnival as I've only ever sailed on Disney. BUT, I can tell you that in April when we cruised DCL for the 3rd time my Daughter was 18....... She was so upset when the cruise was over because we didn't have another Disney Cruise booked to look forward to. We decided to try something different next time (Navigator) BUT she insists that she is not doing the Navigator with us but saving her money to go on Disney AGAIN! 18 year olds can choose to participate in the TEEN Common Grounds area OR the adult only areas. Shelby chose the adult areas in April BUT she had a friend along so that made all the difference. If you are not traveling with a friend, then you may find more people closer to your age at Common Grounds. If you'd like to talk to Shelby to get the 'Disney Cruise Experience' from an 18 year olds point of view, you can email her at spoiledspecial@hotmail.com
:D

The drinking age is 21 on both Disney and Carnival, so there's no difference there. 18-year-olds are allowed into the nightclubs on both lines. 18-year-olds are also allowed into the casino on Carnival (there's no casino on Disney). Don't know if any of those factors will influence your decision.

you can ask my daughter.....we just got back from the 3 day 4th of july cruise on the wonder.....
she ended up spending all of her time with us because she was too old for the common grounds group (my 15 year old was in seventh heaven there) and she was too young for the singles on board....
but despite that she LOVED the cruise and can't wait to go back...
she's already saving her money to go with her 18 year old cousin....
and she refuses to even consider anything but a disney cruise..
her favorite things were dueling pianos (in the adult club), wavebands (for the various parties there), and the massage she had at serenity bay on castaway cay (you have to be at least 18 for that)....

Although my children are much younger than you I can say that this cruise had something for EVERY age group!

There were alot of teens on this cruise and I did not see them very often. There were activities such as a boat trip, parties, organized volleyball games and other activities for the teens. Everyone seemed very engrossed in the activities and were not stepping on each others toes.
