We are going to Disney 4/30-5/7. The flights on SW are coming out at $955 r/t for the 4 of us. This is much higher than the $590 we booked last year on USAIR. It's also much higher than SW was last year. I believe when I checked SW against USAIR it was only $635 r/t. So my question is, should I wait and see if the fares go down on SW - what are the chances that they would?? If I book now and they do go down, will I get a credit towards another ticket or credit back to card? Thanks so much for any info you can provide!! Oh, one more thing. The flight that I really want on SW is coming up higher than all the others - at $149 one way! Why do they do that?!

I would think there is a good chance that your flights may drop in price as your travel dates approach. I would advise you to download DING from the Southwest site and watch for a special rate. I booked by Albany, NY - MCO flights in September at 129.00 per ticket one way. I ended up getting DING fares of 57.00 for the flight down (in mid October) and 49.00 for the flight back in November.

Southwest does not refund to your credit card unless you specifically buy a refundable ticket but you will have a credit with Southwest for a future flight that must be taken within a year of when your FIRST booked the tickets. Guess I will have to make a quick trip someplace before my next planned vacation in October.

The way SW prices their flights is still a mystery to me. I checked 2 weeks before I was leaving (12/8) and the 8:10am NS flight was at 129.00 - the 8:30 flight with a stop in Baltimore was 167.00......
