I've flown for my company before but have never researched and booked my own flight. I was hoping for some pointers. Are there any sites you can go to that will compare different airline prices? I'll be flighing out of Ohio (hopefully Columbus) on Nov 11 (this date is flexible) and returning on Nov 23. :)

I usually use Orbitz for comparisons. But I book with the airlines website. I've always been able to match the Orbitz price, actually a little less because Orbitz charges a fee ($5 I think).

bookingbuddy.com combines all these (expedia, travelocity, etc.) into one search for you. However, flying out of Columbus, you may check Southwest separately since they do not participate with these companies. I would recommend getting a price off the net and then trying to match it thru the individual airline. Additionally, try seatguru.com to check out your planes and seats.

I've been pricing air fares from Ohio to MCO (Orlando INTL) for about a year now. For the last 6 months, Columbus has been the cheapest of all of the Ohio airports, as well as those is SE MI. Typically CMH (Columbus) prices range from $150~$280. SouthWest is normally the cheapest, however you have to keep a close eye on their fares, as they change frequently.

Goofytime2000, thanks so much for the OH info!!!! I guess I'll just be checking sites daily!
