At Disney, we always stay at the POFQ because it is small and easy to get from one place to another. Where will we be happy at Universal? Thanks for any information.

Well, if you want to walk to the parks, stay at HRH. If you want an Italian feel, stay at PBH. If you want the budget hotel, stay at RPR.
Yes, you'll be happy no matter what hotel you stay at.
I stayed at HRH a month ago and had a great trip. Start out there, walk to the others along the jogging path or the boat shuttle, and then you can decide.

we just checked out of RPR this morning. It was great.
We spent too much time in the parks to enjoy the resort this trip.

I've stayed at the Hard Rock two times and I have to say that they were the best hotel stays I have ever had! I'm planning on staying at the Royal Pacific in September so I'll have to see how it compares, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of them!

All three hotels are Loews hotels. Yes, the Royal Pacific is usually less expensive than the other two, but in NO WAY is it a "budget hotel". It's WAY above the level of WDW moderates.
The HRH is closest to the parks, but you can also walk from the RPR. The PBH is a bit further, but has the water taxi and bus service to the parks.

I've stayed at all 3 on-site and PORS and would say RPR is the best match. The location/convience thing is out the window here because all 3 US hotels are closer to any US/IOA/CW attraction. There are 3 ways to travel on-site: Boat, Bus and walking. Where can you walk to from POFQ?
