Never been to Universal

DD and SIL want to go to Universal for our next trip to FL and skip DW. I know nothing about these parks. Should we get just two day tickets or go for 3-4 day tickets? Is there that much to do there? (Busch Gardens was a great disappointment when we recently went--were ready to leave by 4 p.m.) Can't help comparing everything to Disney. I don't ride big rides, but i know they have shows, etc. The rest of the family like the big rides. Going to stay in a rental home in Kissimmee so will have to stay at the park all day instead of going back and forth with an afternoon break. Any touring suggestions? HELP!!

I'd definitely go for 3-4 days. You might get bored if you don't want to ride anything though. Your family will enjoy it.

Why not go to both Universal and WDW? That's what we do every year. We swap off between the two and sometimes even visit both resorts on the same day. The parking fees are brutal but it sure is a lot of fun.

OK, decided on four-day tickets since it's only $10 more than two-day. Best price I can find is at undercovertourist (always use them for WDW). How much is parking and if i buy the tickets now and don't use them will they be good for next year like disney or do i have to use them by the end of this year?

Parking is $14.00 per day and depending on the tickets, you would have to use them within a 14 day period. Make sure to check the tickets carefully in regards to expiration.

If I buy my tickets today (to avoid price increases), but we aren't going until June will the tickets be good. At parks here in OH they are only good for the current "season," but then they aren't open in the winter. Budget wise, I like to get everything taken care of ahead of time, but if the tickets are only good for 2010 and we aren't going until 2011 I will wait. I know WDW you can use the tickets any time no matter what year they were bought in.

You shouldn't have a problem using them next year. Just check to make sure there is no expiration date. We purchased our tickets for our Aug. trip last year before the prices went up. There is no expiration date on them so there shouldn't be any problem. Just read the fine print so you don't have any surprises.

That sounds wonderful actually.

You can always run over to Downtown Disney if you need a fix by the way. We've done that.

We got the 3 day ticket when we went a few years back, and really enjoyed it. For those that do the rides, you can focus on one park a day, then on the last day, hit the highlights they want to do again and again. We also used the single lines whenever we could, cut down on the wait time and frequently got to sit together.
