Depends on what time you arrive in Cali. 3 days minimum for the parks. Hotel is up to you. $$ is the big answer, but not much difference between the two. :confused3

I would say allow 2 days per park, so 4 days total.

DL Hotel and GrandCA are 2 totally different types of hotels.

DL Hotel is more nostaligic IMO and a little more "cutesy" Disney. My personal fav but that's mainly because it reminds me of my childhood. :goodvibes

GrandCA might be a better choice, especially with kids in that age group. Its literally situated right at Downtown Disney and makes going to restaurants and shopping that much easier. Don't get me wrong, DL Hotel isn't far but it's not nearly as close as the Grand. Plus the theming at Grand is much more grown up and sophisticated....something teens might appreciate more?? Don't know as I have a 5 year old boy...

If price isn't a factor, I would say GrandCA Hotel for your group.:thumbsup2

And meal plan...so NOT worth it!

Have fun!

Hi! For someone who has never been to DLR and is going during peak season, you should go for a minimum for three days. Five days would be optimal as it gives you plenty of time to see everything and enjoy all the shows. So definitely go for June 23-27 if you can stay all 5 days.

As for the hotel, I think it really depends on what you are looking for. GCH is the closest hotel to the parks (literally right next to DCA and in the middle of Downtown Disney). I've stayed there once and loved the location. DLH is a little bit farther away but a lot of people love it as the rooms are more Disney themed. I've never stayed there but the new renovated rooms look amazing! Also, I am not sure if cost is a factor in your decision but a lot of people will probably say go for GCH if the prices for the two hotels aren't too drastically different as GCH is usually a lot more expensive.

As for the meal plan, I say do not go for it. If you do the math, you might actually end up paying more for the meal plan than if you were to pay for the meals individually. I've never been to WDW but I have heard that the meal plans there are very different compared to the ones at DLR.

Good luck planning your trip! :goodvibes

Thanks Friends.

Now, to start making up our mind.

So many choices......

Please continue to help! :rolleyes1

Three days is considered the minimum at DLR and four days is better.

Your dates coincide really well with the AP blockouts. June 27 your final day is not blocked and will be really, really crowded. Your other days should have more reasonable crowd levels. June 24 will probably be the least crowded day because it is a grad night.

Hard to say. You can't go wrong either way. We are doing GCH for the first time and I have always wanted to stay there.

DLH is cheaper and a little further away. GCH is grand and very close to the parks.

Nope.

Wish I could help on that. Both will of course be pricey.
