What is a beaver tail?

I have been reading the favorite snack threads and polls and beaver tails are mentioned quite frequently. But I have no idea what they are and why any one would want to eat them.

forgive a newbie:(

It's a pastry that is flat and rectangular and then it is topped with your choice of toppings, like fruit, chocolate, nutella, etc. I like the crepes in France better, since I thought the pastry was tough, but a lot of people really like them.

Frankly, a Krispie Kreme is better. ;) But a Beaver Tail is good. :)
But they don't seem open often enough.
And a word of caution. Last weekend I forgot to take cash with me. I wanted to buy one and was told they do not accept debit cards.
But most people are smart enough to REMEMBER to carry $. ;)

They are kind of like what we call Elephant Ears at the fairs around here. It was good but not great.

Actually, it is not a pastry. It is a version of fried bread dough, plain and simple. They were better when they were made right at the kiosk. Now they are made elsewhere and sit in the kiosk until served to guests. The quality suffers.

Not really anything that you'd be missing if you didn't have one. Your arteries would be happier if you did.

Thank you so much ...

I will probably be interesting in trying one - I will probably be interesting in trying a lot of things down there

Those snack threads just make my mouth water. I should probably make a list of snack to eat and sites to visit.

Thanks again for all your help:teeth:

Beaver tails are round and flat, made from dough shaped like a beaver tail that is probably fried like a donut. The original topping is cinnamon and sugar - kind of tastes like a sugar donut, even better if it's warm.

Courtesy of your friendly northern neighbour
(yes, we spell it with a "u"), at the kiosk in front of the Canada pavilion.

Cheers, eh!:wave2:
