Hey,
I'm new to this board but have a couple of questions that I will try to post in the appropriate place. We will be there on our anniversary and my husband and I want to go out to eat- just the two of us. We have in narrowed down to Narcoossee's or Y. Steakhouse. We actually have reservations at both- one on one night and one on the other. We had pretty much decided to go with Narcoossee's because of the setting. Our reservation isn't until 9pm that night though. After looking at these boards though, I'm sorta wondering if we made the right decision. We really wanted to go to Le Cellier but it was booked. Anyway, I'm sorta disappointed after reading that none of the signature restaraunts don't have any type of dress code or age limit except VA. I know that is a contraversial subject on here ;) and understand all the perspectives but it's just my personal opinion that if I'm going to spend that kind of money at what Disney calls a signature restaraunt then it better be nice. I know it's not that fancy or expensive, but still... After reading, I have this horrible image in my mind that we will go to Narcoossee's and there will be kids running around (I have a little boy and I do love kids- honest), people in tank tops, and a crowd will rush Narcoossee's for the fireworks and it won't be romantic at all. Please tell me I'm wrong. Thanks so much.

Narcooses is nothing like that at all. They do have a dress code, but it is not enforced. The attire is usually "beach dressy" like a polo shirt and nice shorts or slacks is okay. But I don't think you have to worry about people being in bathing suit attire like flip flops.

9:00 PM ADR will eliminate a number of families with young kids. I certainly wouldn't wait that late for our dinner.

I think you'll be fine

My husband & I had a nice Anniversary dinner at Narcoosees. It was a later dinner and I didn't notice any kids around. The atmoshphere was fairly quiet & we were able to focus on us, our dinner & the water pagent outside. We were not distracted by anyone else in the room. I think you will like it, but you must remember it is Disney (children everywhere) and that was just our experience.

Best wishes and hope you have a magical night.:)

Yeah, a few kids won't bother us, I just hoped it wasn't a super casual place where families with kids prefer to go or that it would be super crowded- people had said they let people stand on the balcony who aren't eating there just to watch the fireworks.

They did but it still shouldn't be that crowded. Most families will not be there after 9:00 pm as someone noted and most people do not come back to see the fireworks.

Hope you have a great anniversary dinner! :)

Every place except Victoria and Albert's has kids. Even at 9:00 pm. You should just be ready for it. And yes, people will stand on the balcony and block your view of the fireworks if you are seated at the windows. It happened to us on our anniversary and we had a lovely view the rude fat butts of the women who stood at the railing right between us and the castle. They also blocked the view of a little girl who was too frightened of the noise of the fireworks and could not watch from outside.

By the way, you are welcome to leave your table and view the fireworks from the balcony yourself. We would have but our dinner had just been delivered so we had no option than to sit at our table. Just make sure your don't block anyone :). The surf and turf at Narcoosee's is GREAT!

Yeah, I'm sorta disappointed they don't enforce the dress code more but I know that's a beated dead horse on here:laughing: I just hope it's somewhat romantic though or it won't feel worth it, know what I mean? Sounds like it will be fine- I was thinking I was going to get the surf and turf :goodvibes Does anyone know what time the fireworks will go off that night- it's Wed Dec. 3rd.

I think you will have an amazing time wherever you eat. Even if it is late. We LOVE Y. Steakhouse and it is our favorite. If you have time - give it a try. It is fab!

Hi! I just wanted to say that we took our children (DS11 and DD8) to both Narcoossee's and Yachtsman Steakhouse. I don't mean to brag, but our children are VERY well behaved, and we saw these dinner events as a way to expose them to how to act in a nice restaurant. I can say that both Narcoossee's AND Yachtsman had very few children, and both would make a great Anniversary dinner. I would personally prefer Yachtsman.

You're good - don't expect a lot of wild kids to be running around at either place!

Alan
