Holy cow!! It was waaaaaaaaaaaay crowded and waaaaaay hot!! I should of known better. If you are going anytime soon plan on spending more time at the pools!! :sunny: We had a nice time doing that but went to all the parks and only road one ride and saw one show! we do not have patience to wait in the heat!

Sorry to hear you had such a bad time. If you're going next time, you may want to consider subscribing to www.TourGuideMike.com that way you'll never wait more than 10-15 minutes in line for rides, no matter what the season.

I hate the heat too and TGM was a lifesaver. We've gone the last two summers without any problems using his advice, and the parks were very crowded!

Hi!

I'm with ya! We just got back on July 7th and boy was it hot and crowded. This is our second trip in July and it will probably be our last. Oh, don't get me wrong - we had a marvelous and magical time and I'm just glad we were at the World for 10 days - we were able to spend at least 2 days at each park so we were able to run to our room at POR once the boys got too hot to continue.

July probably is one of the most brutal months to go in. However, at least you got to enjoy your resort (I know thats not why you completely go. There are a lot of great times a year to go. I'd just do a little digging around here on the DIS.

We went in July last year and I feel the same...never again. lol We still had a great time but it would've been better w/o those crowds. :)

Dont get me wrong we didnt have a horrible time!! We LOVED the resort and the food!(Got to love yachtsman) Just the parks were brutal!!

So you had a problem with 97 degrees and 100% humidity, I can't imagine why1 :rotfl2: I was there too, until the 9th, and we go every year at this time, but this year it was brutal(a good word). Normally, it's only in the 80's until the end of the month, but not this year! The crowds were awfully bad, too. I just spent all my time at the pool, I didn't even get over to the water parks because they were too crowded too.

It was very hot this year but I have to say we (me and 4 year old DS) never waited over 15 minutes for a ride with the exception of Soarin'. I even commented that we didn't have to use Fastpass. The longest wait was Splash Mountain for 15 minutes.

Well, now I'm getting nervous! I leave in 12 days and now I think I may regret my decision to go in July. I went in the middle of August last year and it was hot and crowded, but we mananged. Is July really that bad? And how is it that one person reports they couldn't get on rides and another reports there were no long waits? I'm so confused. :confused3 Was it extra crowded due to the July 4th holiday? Will the end of July be any better? I hope I'm not disappointed. :sad2:

We went in July 1 time and 1 time only. We had fun, but we didn't know any better. It was hot and crowded. Then we went in November and said we would never go in July again. Now we are spoiled and only go in the Fall and Winter. I couldn't imagine going back and dealing with the crowds and heat. I am glad you had a good time anyway. Crowds, heat, whatever, I don't see how you couldn't have a good time in the best place on earth!!!!

We were just down there and me and dh both said never again in July. Last July we had a great time but this year, I think things just got to us more.

I still had a great vacation and would go in July if that was the only time we'd be able to go, but we both said we'll go in February or the end of November next time.

I've went in july every year since 1988 and this year I did jan ,march and may ,I tryed to get a ressie for july 11-15 and every DVC and Disney was sold out. I said to ressie's cast member are you sure ALL DISNEY resorts are sold out and I made several calls cause I couldn' believe that ALL disney resorts were sold out but I couldn't get a room anywhere. I said to them this is worst than xmas, she said it has been crazy this year

I just came back (went from July 7 thru 15) and didn't think it was that bad. I used Faspass a lot, and got them early. There are a lot of Brazilian tour groups in every park, and their guides carry about 300 tickets and go to Fastpass machines and run them out---so you have to beat em to it.

MK yesterday was packed, but I was able to get a FP for Buzz, Splash, BTM, AND Space. Sure, when rain comes along they close the rides down, but it doesn't last that long.

MGM was packed 2 days ago, but the trick to MGM is to get a FP for Lights, Motors, Action right away, because it's an attraction that allows you to go and get another FP to a different attraction. That being said, we did just about everything there is to be done at MGM.

Soarin and TT must be FP'd too (Epcot). I thought World Showcase was empty the times I went.

At AK FP Kali and the Safari and you're set.

I believe the secret is to arrive early to get as many FP's (and go through them) as quickly as possible.

We had a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :earsboy:

We went for our honeymoon the last week of july the first week of aug and it was NUTS, we did have fun, we can stand the heat, we were childless... but it was crowded. third time was with 2 kids, prego me and was the 2nd week of march it was nice weather a little let crowded and we are now planing my 4th trip in sept this year... hoping it will be less crowds although very hot still! We dont' mind the heat!

I've been in late Oct., early Nov., mid-Dec, 3 weeks ago, and twice from Aug 15 or so, and once over Thanksgiving. I would equate the crowds we had the third week of June to be about 85% of the Thanksgiving crowds....that would be a ton of people. But, when you add in the heat..oh, man. Going in mid-August, from the 14th on, is hot/humid but not nearly as crowded. Oct, Nov, Dec are terrific crowd wise as long as you avoid the major holidays.

I don't think I will ever go in June again. Just too many people and way too hot. And we didn't have any major waits in line either. I know my way around WDW and there is a lot we pass on since we have been frequently. If you go during June or July...plan on spending some (okay, a lot) of time at the pool or doing something other than being in the parks. Even my 11 y/o dd said she doesn't want to go in June again!!!

Sorry to hear July didn't work out for you. My husband and I actually favor July for our WDW trips. (More specifically 4th of July week.) We did visit in December, but it was too cold, we had to wear fleece jackets everyday and I purchased gloves while we were out there!

DD and I were just talking about this today. She knows I want to move to FL and it has been incredibly hot here lately--low 90s with the dewpoint at around 70. Very hot and humid for MN anyway. We were at a park this morning and when we left DD asked if I was sure I wanted to move to FL because she would not want to be standing in line in heat like this! I told her that if we lived there, we would NEVER be going to parks on days like this. She and I went the beginning of June a few years ago and that just about did us in. Can't even imagine going in July.

We just got back (POFQ) from our 7/6 - 7/11 trip. While it is crowded, especially in the MK, we didn't wait longer than 20 minutes for anything. We used fastpass for the very popular rides, and everything else was surprisingly easy to get into. The crowds can be deceiving. We had a fabulous time, with the crowds and July heat and even the threat of Dennis - don't stress - you should be fine. Epcot was not crowded at all, Animal Kingdom was only mildly crowded. Disney Studios was crowded as you walked around, but everything was easy to get into. MK is the park that is the most crowded - make sure to stop in the AC attractions when you get hot. Tomorrowland was the most crowded, then fantasy land. Adverntureland and Frontierland were not bad. I would go back tomorrow if I could.

We went the middle of June and while the heat was not horrible - standing in lines made it much worse than it should have been. We must have been doing something wrong b/c we were at the MK that had long lines.75min for Splash with a 3 hour FP. 1 hour 30 minutes for Buzz. Space MT was closed down after we wasted a FP and over an hour on it. But apparently we are the exception b.c lots of people say they walked right on these rides... So I'm not sure what we were doing wrong. make sure you learn the tricks before you go. We ended up leaving early and being very disheartened. I'll have to remarry to ever go back as dh has sworn never to set foot in another Disney park.

I have to disagree. We go every July and while this one was the HOTTEST we thought the crowds were not bad at all. The longest wait for any ride we saw was 90 minutes and that was Soarin. We saw everything we wanted to. I will say that it was by far the hottest though. We thankfully stayed at a monorail hotel so were able to easily hop back for a pool break. We actually commented several times at how not crowded it was. With the exception of one place Typhoon Lagoon. That was a disaster. We were in and out by 1 PM too crowded it hit capacity and you felt it. That lazy river was more like people soup. :crazy2:
