Does anyone use this service (internet DVD rentals?) or another similar service? We seem to have problems returning DvD's on time and I am SICK of paying late fee's. A co-worker mentioned this, for about $22 a month seems like a pretty good deal, we easily spend that per month now and more.....

We subscribe and love it...there was just a discussion about this recently so if you search Netflix you can find all the opinions. :)

We use Netflicks. We've enjoyed more movies over the last couple of months than we have in the last year total. We've signed up to have 3 DVD's at a time. We select our own movies and add them to a rental queue. When one is returned, the next available on the list is shipped. With luck, we have turnaround to have new DVD's every weekend. I would never go back to renting at Blockbuster or the local video store. This is so much better.

Usually, we don't have a problem with returns and new shipments but just recently, 3 of the returned DVD's didn't show up until I reported them missing? Maybe just a coincidence?

thanks for the input, I am about ready to sign up. Sorry I missed the other thread about it, guess I should have done a search to start with.

I've been using Netflix for a couple months now on the 5 movie program. ($29.95/month) But a couple of weeks ago I started having a little trouble. 1 DVD lost here, 1 lost there and once I shipped 4 back and they didn't show up for 15 days! Netflix is good about it. After about 6-8 days you file a lost report and they ship new ones out (or the next ones.) I don't know if it's Netflix trying to slow things down or my mail man P.O.'d about my entire complex creating a ton more work for him. (I live in a complex that actively advertises for Netflix.) When the 4 were lost I tried to file a complaint with my PO. But wouldn't you know it - unless mail is not received after 15 days you can't file the complaint. The day I'm going to file the movies suddenly show up!

If anyone else using Netflix has had similar problems I'd like to know about it please!

I used it for a while but then I changed 4 addresses in a years time so I canceled it. Its a good service but when I used it (which was a little over a year ago) they never had any new releases. But I love it anyway because it gave me the chance to catch up on old movies or movies I had never taken the time to watch. I love the fact that you can keep them as long as you like. I got the Sopranos seasons and sex in the city...it was a great service for things like that.

They don't SHOW many new releases but they do have them. I found that if I go the Blockbuster for their New and Upcoming releases

Blockbuster

and search Netflix for what I find there

Netflix

I can get just about all I'd find at the rental places. It's just this shipping thing I've got to resolve!!

We've used it in the past and had no problems except that some of the more popular rentals took forever to get because of the wait list. They were excellent in cases where we received an empty DVD sleeve (in other words, they believed us and didn't hassle us about).

Just sent you a PM.

I've had Netflix for about a month now and love it. Luckily our distribution center is close by and we get our new movie the 2nd day after we send it out (send Mon get new Wed). One dvd was scratched but we sent it back and got a new one no problem. You do have to manually search for the new releases it seems but I do what Kirk does and check out Blockbuster.com first. I'm really watching lots more movies though - not sure if that is good or bad.

One of my college sons uses this and loves it. He is a real movie junkie and has quite a list on file with them. He also doesn't have any of the movie channels on his cable - uses Netflix instead.
