Any pros/cons to doing a month or two? There are a few movies I want to see that I don't feel like spending $20 for the dvd, as I would only watch once. Is the 9.99 it, or are there other fees? Any sort of minimum time you have to participate?

Have you considered Red Box. They have the same movies and you pay $1 to rent them. Unlike Netflix, you only pay for what you use. There are no other fees with Netflix other than the monthly charges. Note that the are beginning the doing away with the mailing of DVDs at Netflix. The are trying to get all rentals online via streaming over the internet. We like Netflix and have always used it with no problems.

Netflix is $9.99 a month, taxes are added is applicable. We love our Netflix. :) It's well worth it for our family.

Redbox doesn't have the movies I want to see. I use redbox for new releases fairly frequently.

So am I understanding that tax is the only additional cost? No minimum time to be enrolled?

I'd love to just do streaming, but streaming doesn't have a couple of the ones I want, either.

You would be surprised at the number of good movies on streaming Netflix that nobody has ever heard of!

It's not that I don't agree, I just have a few specifics right now and at least one has to be mailed.

you can cancel after a month (partial months are not refunded). It is a great deal with no real catch!

I totally agree. I have a streaming only subscription, and I've watched some really great movies I never heard of. For me, it's so worth it.

The only downside to Netflix is that you might become addicted to streaming video. :goodvibes It is awesome! Seriously, it will change your life! :thumbsup2

My family loves netflix!! It is well worth the money! It even includes stars play, which is like having stars for free! 10 bucks a month, you can watch on tv, wii, computer all at the same time! Different movies, it has tv shows also!! It just rocks!!! PLus you can order dvd's watch it return it, and order another one, as many as you want!! I can't say enough good!! :thumbsup2

looooooooovvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeee Netflix

9.99 plus tax is only charges

you can cancel at any time, you can also do a hold which is nice if you are going through a tough spot and need to save the money. I have used that when I move so I don't have movies in transit.

look for free 2 week trial offers out there and then maybe you can cancel after that if you decide you don't want to keep it

We love our netflix,,, and you can use it on up 6 devices for one account.. we have it every lap top in the house and the WII/playstation... love watching old tv shows with no commericals...

Try it you will love it!!

There was a free 30 day trial when I signed up, but I love it. $10/month for streaming and 1 dvd at a time is a good price. Between Netflix and current shows available online, I haven't had to pay for cable in over a year.

There's almost always a 30 day free trial. Just google, and you'll probably find a link.

You can drop it at any time, no strings. You'll probably get addicted and want to keep it though. That's what happened to us. Our Wii hardly gets used at all now, except for to stream Netflix. :lmao:

No other costs just the $9.99 plus tax. Unless you want to have more DVDs out at a time, they have different options, from only streaming to 1-3 DVDs out at a time. :)

:thumbsup2 ITA I get so annoyed when I can't find what I want streaming! lol

We had a 2 week trial and if you have My Points you will get a bunch of points for signing up and paying for a month. :) I used to have free codes but they expired. Just check around for codes online. :)

OP...Have you checked to see if your local library has the DVDs you were looking for?

As for Netflix, they have a free 1 month trial, so you can't really go wrong to try it out. :goodvibes

My mom bought us the Roku box for Christmas, I'm loving streaming Netflix and HuluPlus :happytv:

I have the $4.99 (+tax)/month plan. 2 DVDs for the month and 2 hrs of streaming. I am happy with the plan. You can always change/cancel the plan if you find that it does not meet your needs. I use RedBox too, but the number of DVD's they offer is very limited IMO.

I'm piggybacking...

We don't have a Wii, Gamecube, or XBox (I know - gasp!!) - is there any other way to get the streaming video? I can get it on my iPhone, but unfortunately I don't think I can hook the phone to my TV.

We actually did stream from our iPhone to the TV before we hooked up our Wii. We have a docking cable running from the phone to the TV (it is a cable with a dock connector on one end and then the 3 red/yellow/blue (think those are the colors) connectors on the other end. My DH does all that, so I'm not up on how it all works.

Here's the cable I'm talking about:

(by the way I know nothing about that online store - it was just the first photo I found - we got ours at the Apple store)
