Anyone use the wireless one (Roku) at Disney? What is the performance like?

Since this is not DVC specific I am moving it over to our Community Board.

We bought a Blu-ray player to play instant Netflix. Works great.
Watched a cute movie last night called "Outsourced".
I'd suggest a Blu-ray player as you'll be able to watch Blu-ray movies and watch Netflix movies and regular DVDs as well.

You used it at Disney?

We have Netflix Watch Instantly available on our HD TiVo S3 DVR. Unfortunately, Netflix is not providing accommodations for the hearing impaired.
Netflix said:
Captioning is in our development plans but is about a year away.
So hearing impaired people should turn on their ears for the next year?

I am looking for someone who has used one of the wireless devices at Disney.

Anyone?

Sorry....missed the Disney part. Where do they have these? A resort room?

I can't imagine how you would use it though.

The device for watching in the Blu-Ray requires you to put in a password from the dvice to your Queue online. Once you put in the password you are given, that device is set up for your particular Queue. When you pull up Netflix on the screen it automatically loads your Instant Queue. I don't see how you could do this with new people all the time.

Disney doesn't supply them. I was considering getting one and taking it with me. My fear is that because the internet connection at disney is used by so many people it will have a really bad performance and not be worth the luggage space it will require.

Hmmm
Sounds like you could use your own device then, making sure you bring your own cable for the connection. If your device is anything like the BluRay, it loads the show/movie into the device before you can start playing it (or at least enough so that you won't 'catch up' to it loading). We have cable internet and it works great. I don't know what Disney uses for internet or how fast it is. I think that is really more what you need to know, right?

No that information doesn't help me know how good it will be in the room because the connection is shared among other rooms. I need to know if anyone specifically used one in a room and what model they used. I would prefer to buy the wireless one but if there is a better one to use at disney I wouldn't mind getting something different.
