Netflix - Instant Streaming Disc for Wii - UPDATE Post #29

My concern is that since the Wii is not an HD device that no steamed movies will be HD either. We can stream through our Bluray player, which is, of course, HD but not everything Netflix streams is in HD, either. And even if they offer something streamed in HD you have to have a fast enough connection in order to view it in HD (which the streaming device will determine for you). We have our systems connected via ethernet cables instead of WiFi in order to have the better speed and signal.

Just got our disc!

We stream viamWiFi. The picture quality is not quite HD quality, but considering what we are receiving from Netflix and what we pay, it looks great!

I received my disk today...it works fine and Im going to have Dh downgrade the cable... Netflix actually has more on instant stream then I thought they did. (for $9 a month its worth it)

I haven't gotten the disc or even an email that they're shipping my disc yet. Maybe they're afraid we'll downgrade our package.

We got our disc today too. I was actually surprised at how good the quality was streaming through the wii. Since we already subscribe to Netflix anyway, it isn't costing us anything more and we're thrilled with it!

Sometimes I will kill some time and rate the movies. I was stunned at how many good movies are now streaming. I called up a list based on my preferences and BAM! Lots of great movies.

How can we find out which Blue Ray players will work?

You can also do this with the PS3, but again you have to have the disc. Some Blue-Ray players and the new Wi-Fi TVs have this feature. Oh, and netflix has a box that hooks to ur TV.

Total setup took 5 mins. which included 2 updates (Wii was already setup for wifi). Have a computer handy - you get a code that you have to enter. Whatever you have in your instant que shows up. Streaming a movie as I type this.

Our came today, no email so it was a bit of a surprise. I know DH streams movies on his laptop on the road; I'm hoping this is a good experience also.
