I have a netbook contract with 3GB a month, but am a bit unsure what this means and paranoid I will go over my usage, can anyone help me please!!

Thanks, verity

I believe it is the amount you can download before you have to pay.

For O2 if you go over your monthly allowance it will cost you 20p per Mb.

This is only if you use the netbook on your mobile internet. If you use it on your home WIFI internet then that doesn't count towards your 3Gb allowance.

Just found this usage calculator on the 3 site:

http://**********.co.uk/Mobile_Broadband/Recommend_a_plan

You can see how many Mb will be used depending on how you use the netbook.

I don't think that with 3Gb the netbook with a mobile internet dongle could be used in place of normal home broadband. Useful in an emergency if you are somewhere without WIFI access.

I would say that if you use it for general internet browsing you would struggle to use up your 3GB allowance. If you start to use it for downloading though it will dissappear pretty quick.
DW got a phone call from 3 today offering her a dongle for free, (normally £50) with a 1gb allowance, for £5 per month for life. (the contract isn't for life but as long as she wants to keep the dongle and the contract it will never go above £5) She decided to go for it just for those occassions when we are staying in a hotel, or somewhere where wi-fi would be a benefit.
