Do you have net curtains at your windows?

Since we moved we haven't, and I have been looking and looking locally but there just doesnt seem to be much of a demand for Nets round here - when I look, hardly any house has nets at the windows, yet where we used to live, EVERYONE had them.

I managed to get some nice ones on Saturday and am now in the process of shortening them, washing them, ironing them, cleaning windows..............hang on, that may be the reason why people done have them! LOL

I have to say they look really nice - we are not overlooked at all from any aspect, but I still felt 'exposed'.

Whose a Net person and who isn't? :D :D :D

No nets for me, I hate them because they block the view.
In our old house we just had standard curtains and when they were open I did sometimes feel 'exposed' because we were on a fairly busy path.

Most people on that estate had vertical blinds, in fact I felt like I 'ought' to get some just so we weren't the odd one's out.

In this new house we inherited horizontal blinds which are ok, I probably wouldn't have had them put up but I don't think I will remove them. I like that we can adjust them so we have a little privacy, but can still see outside. I have to say I do prefer it when they are up and out of the way the best though.

:p Ooh, not for me, thanks!! My DH really would like some in our lounge cos we do tend to walk around with no clothes on    (no, not all the time) , but fairly private so apart from the lounge we're surrounded by the farmer's fields and there's no way anyone in their right mind would be walking in that bog this time of the year;)

We had nets in our old house, but with us just moving we have BIG windows now,so ive opted for blinds,i just need to get someone down to measure and fit them! lol

No nets here either. We only have small windows and need all the light we can get. It's nice to be able to see out without peering through a net curtain. Fortunately it's very private where we are and although we are in a bungalow the windows are quite high up.

Well Paul had them when I moved in and I just haven't got round to changing them - I prefer voile (I'm a snobby net person !) to nets and I can't wait to change al lof ours but we may be moving next year anyways so it's not worth it. Funnily enough though we don't have any in our bedroom

LOL, I was in a curtain shop once, and asked what 'voile' was, and the girl told me 'posh nets'!

Vertical blinds for us, like the fact that you can see outside. I also didn't like nets blocking the view. We also have a square bay window which is a nightmare for curtains so we just close the blinds at nights and have the curtains as decoration.

We have nets at our bedroom window, cos we can't be bothered closing the curtains if we want to get changed. At the lounge and dining room windows we have vertical blinds (old - need replacing) but these are solely to help stop the fading which the sun causes. In the morning we have the sun on the back of the house and in the afternoon it's on the front. I would prefer not to have either nets or blinds but privacy and the need to keep the furniture looking better comes first, I'm afraid.
