Nervous Wreck!

I'm leaving a week from Sat on my first solo trip and am a total wreck. Even when I travel with family, I go through a bout of the jitters, but this time, it's a bit different....

Yesterday, I spent all day trying to reorganize my ADR's and then, called because my ME tickets were to the wrong resort......After 4 calls to CRO & ME I found that I'm arriving in WDW, but ME doesn't have me "at" a resort.

I know this is a tiny minor thing that can be easily corrected with a sharpie, but just the thought of being solo & homeless at WDW is a bit sad.......

I feel guilty (like I'm abandoning my family), but my DH has "ordered" me on this trip and won't let me back out.

So, I guess I'm going through with it, but am not happy about it....(O.k., I'm just kidding, I am happy, but very scared)

So, thanks a bunch to everyone here who tried to ease my initial fears......I could use a bit more easing. I hope to meet up with some other DISers, so if you see me, all alone, on a bench reading a book in world showcase, stop & say hi

I can just picture some poor confused woman sitting on a bench in WS being constantly interrupted by people asking her if she's Tink from DIS and not understanding at all!

Hey, Tink! You're going to have a wonderful time. I'll be at the World 1/24 - 2/1. This will be my 7th time solo. It is totally awesome! Do you have an AP? If so, you'll be able to do the E:E sneak peek. Yeah baby!!!!

Where will you be staying? I'm at PC.

I do have an AP & will definately be going to the EE preview....Planned my whole first day around it

I'll be staying at the AKL and hope I like it. We normally stay at Epcot resorts, so being out that far and using the busses will really be a change for me.

I had to go to LA for work and flew in a few days early so I could go to Disneyland and CA. I admit as I walked through the marketplace area I was thinking this is crazy, who goes to a theme park by themself? ( this was before I discover the dis boards). Well I walked into a shop to stall before buying my tickets and heard some guy say to his wife(?) "come on ,hurry-up, I'm tired of shopping" and suddenly I realized that for the next 3 days I could explore every gift shop, go on any ride as many times as I wanted, stop and eat 'another' ice-cream sandwich.....and then shop some more! I had the best time, met some interesting people waiting in lines and overall couldn't have asked for a better trip. Hope you have a great time as well, and don't be nervous-- you're on your way to the happiest place on earth!

I'm going solo too and also staying at AKL. I am going to try and get to AK around 4PM on Friday if my flight is not late, if not, I will be at the EE preview on Sat AM. I made no ADRs. I'm going for R&R....and will eat mostly at CS. I'm taking DME which is different for me. When I travel with DH we rent a car. Looking forward to meeting other solo disers.

Dizgal & Shoes,

If either of you, or both, would like to meet up, feel free to let me know. I'd love to visit Jellyrolls or The adventurers club, but am a bit hesitant to visit either alone. Also, lunch or dinner may be a thought......

I'm also going to relax (I've been ordered to do so by my hubby) and while I have quite a few dining ressies (gotta get use out of the DDE card), I'm pretty flexible with my plans.

My flight gets in at about 10:30am on Saturday (the 28th) and I'll be heading over to AK for the EE preview right away.

I'm also thinking about riding EE again on the 29th.

Just PM me if you want to buddy up!

Hey Tink-looks like we'll just miss each other i'll be at AKL 2/2-2/5 for a quick girls weeknd (my friends don't come til 2/3 in afternoon) I am so looking forward to enjoying the first day & night by myself! ( I went on a quickie solo trip summer of '05 & it was fun) Definitely meet up w/ the other gals-I met up with a really nice dis couple when I went in the summer for lunch at Beachs & Cream-fun place to meet!) I was prepared for stares from people as I walke din teh parks or waited in lines, but a few people asked me where my family/friends were when they saw me alone & it started a conversation! (some moms with kids who had been "over stimulated" even looked wistfully at me & said "somday I'd like to do that!") Have a great time & remember everyone there is looking for magic enjoying themselves & it just carries over to all! ( had a book in my purse in case I ever got Uncomfortable, but it never happend.) You'll have a great time, especially if you love to people watch! (like I do) Debbie
