nervous for dh right now UPDATE 2-22

As DH was leaving work Friday his boss said "let's have lunch Monday". A year ago he was hit with a 30% pay cut.Several months ago they gave him a little back (about 5%) and at that time said more would be coming back as the economy improved.

Well this is either a great lunch where we may get some more back - or a disaster lunch that the company is closing. (it's very small)
I could just throw up. Positive thoughts for him if you can!

I kind of know how you feel too. DH works for a pretty small company. They just got outbid and lost their major customer so things are looking a little bleek. They are reevaluating the organization and some people will probably get let go. We think DH is pretty safe unless the whole company shuts down (which is a slim possibility) but you just never know. He was going to ask for a raise in May (3 year anniversary and no increases) but now he can't. I got laid off in June and am working a temp position with no news on if it will go permanent (I am also actively looking for a permanent position) so we need DH's benefits. It is very stressful. Hang in there!!!!

My DH's company just went through restructuring too. He works for a small company as well, and job bidding is big for them. They've been under-bidding, to get the jobs, but they've cut out all overtime, and they laid off several people last week. My DH is safe (for now...), but they are now working 10 hour days, four days a week....so they can be on job sites longer and get more done in a day. This no overtime thing is ridiculous...they have a lot of work to do, but no money (because of the under-bidding...)

DH has has one raise in the 2 1/2 years he's been with the company. No sense in asking for one right now....not gonna happen.

Am thinking of you DH now and and sending positive vibes. DH also works for a small company and with things they way they are these days, i worry that the owner will just decide to close up shop. We do have my salaray (and thank goodness i work for a larger company where I am basiclly safe).

Please let us know what happens! We could all use some good news these days!

No News yet. It got postponed - DH had a meeting to get to. BUT the boss did say I owe you a great lunch. So that's positive at least! No more cuts would make me happy.
