Nervous about no response from pool home owners

I have paid my final payment to secure our pool home rental. E-mailed the owner twice, requesting confirmation that they have received my payment and also requesting more information (about check-in, etc.), which they had previously stated that they would send upon receipt of final payment. So far, I have gotten no response. It has been over ten days. Should I be nervous about this? I'll tell you, I am really anxious; was wary about doing business in cyberworld with a stranger in the first place, but I had read about so many positive experiences from people renting off-site this way, I wanted to do it that way too...

Maybe they are just on vacation...

I just sent another e-mail to the owner thru vrbo...

What should I do if I do not get an answer from them? How long should I wait?

10 days they should have contacted you by now but strange things happen with emails nowadays, it may be getting spammed out. Have you got a number to call them ? If its a UK number let me have it and I will call them for you.

Is the owner is in the UK? It seems that the mail between the UK ans USA is slow at the moment and they may not have received it yet .
Send an e mail to the site owners -vrbo- if you do not get any reply from the owners soon and ask them to chase them up.
Even if they are away at the moment there is no excuse -they know your payment is due and should have told you not to worry as you"wouldn't hear from me until xxxx "

If you need help I have contacts with a wide network of owners -you never know someone may know someone who knows something .Meanwhile see if you can find a physical address and think abiut sending them a registered or signed for letter to try and sort it out .

I hope the reason for their lack of communicaton is a real simple one .

I recently had the same problem, the owner was waiting for a code for the key lock box from the management company before replying to me! I have now recieved all the details and can breath a sigh of relief!!

Thank you for your concerned responses.

As I have just sent another e-mail to the property owner thru vrbo, I will wait a couple more days before I do anything else. If I do not hear from her, then I will definitely follow up further, and I may just enlist your help, thank you...

Yes, the owner is in the UK, so that may simply be the reason for the slow response time frame.

I'd be worried too, but...;)
As everyone else has said, there - most likely - is a simple reason for the delay:) My parents have just rented a timeshare through www.tug2.net , and we were getting worried that we hadn't heard from the owners regarding their deposit..

2 emails, and 10 days later..we got a VERY apologetic response from them, confirming everything. They had been away, and thought they had let us know already:)

HTH!..and let us know what happens:)

10 days? I would be worried too. I think a phone call is in order.... Good luck!

Something similar happened to us. Turned out the people were on vacation. It's easy for us to forget, but people in Europe got alot more vacation time then we do so 2 or 3 week vacations aren't uncommon for them. Hope everything turns out okay!
