Nervous about car rental price

So I have to say I'm getting nervous. I booked our minivan back in November and got a great rate of $16.18 day and $384 for the 16 day rental period in August. The rental was through carrentals.com and the minivan from Payless.

The prices for minivans do not seem to be going down and seem more expensive now. Is that standard?

Has it ever happened that through carrentals.com the reservation disappears or is not honoured?

You should be fine. I agree minivans are out of this world expensive right now…..They used to give them away…. all I can think of is lower gas prices

I rented a minivan from AVIS at LAX in February 2015 for an August 2015 trip. The price never went down; instead it more than doubled.

Depends on the time of year that you are travelling. Spring break and Summer vacation periods are all about family vacations and Minivans are in high demand during these time periods. Book early and check back to see if rates drop.
You already have a decent rate booked for a minivan but it can't hurt to check regularly for any rate drops.

Demand can be low when families aren't travelling on-mass. When we vacation in January and February, they literally cannot give them away, we usually see lots or Minivans on Alamo's Full Size aisle when we are on our winter vacation. Friends of ours use Dollar frequently and book "Lock Low and Go" (supposed to be Compact or larger) and often find Minivans and CUV's/SUV's in that aisle in Jan and Feb.
