nervous about booking+waiting for FD

So we're booking and buying non-refundable flights today based on the FD dates released here and I'm nervous!! Nervous that FD won't happen as leaked, nervous that I'll miss FD at POFQ even if I call the minute is released, etc. Anyone else get this way? Also, can I be less-nervous and believe it's really happening (FD in Sept?)

We're afraid of the flights going up, it's under $1000 for 6 right now which is an AMAZING deal for us.

I can understand the pressure you feel. Been there/there. If FD does not come out, will you be able (and ok) with downgrading resorts? Taking a room only discount? I think you are pretty safe on having some discount, as long as you have a 2nd and/or 3rd option, I would book those bad boys and do the Happy Dance for Disney Hoping everything turns out well (I am sure it will)

I am planning to book flights, hopefully Monday, when Airtran releases their year end flights and I can compare them to Jetblue. Once I book, I will adjust my current ressie if I have too by a day or two, but then that's it. I book my rooms with my AAA discount anyway and if FD comes out, well then great, I'll again adjust my ressie and if not, we'll eat OOP (which was our original plan anyway). I stress bigtime over flights. Once those are booked, then I feel like the trip is real and I go from there. If we get a better discount, YAY, if not, we've budgeted for that too. I've run the numbers and I'm pretty sure I'm booking POFQ and the AAA discount is better than anything Disney offers for room only, if they even include POFQ, but FD will work better for us if that's offered, so I adjust. Flights are volatile. Book 'em if you find a rate your comfy with.

Wow, that is an amazing deal! For my family of 5 it's at least $1500 to fly lately...looks like we will drive this year!

Honestly, even if FD didn't happen, there would be some discount for that time and with what you saved on airfare, it would even out. So you could tell yourself it's almost like getting FD, just to make you feel better.

Normally I am the voice of reason and tell people not to worry but you neeed a back up resort, POFQ will probably have very few rooms availbale. Come up with plan B in your mind now and be ready to go with it.

Although you will be calling 'first' so will hundreds of others including 100's of Travel Agents competeting to get those hard to get room categories.

Are you not going at all if you can't get FD? I would buy the airfare that seems like a pretty good deal. Adjust to a value if you can't get FD

I am in the same situation. The airfare finally dropped enough that we could get free tickets using our credit card points, so I booked them. It sounds like the source of the FD rumor has been reliable in the past, but if FD does not materialize we can stay offsite or possibly use some other discount if one becomes available.

Are you flying from MSP? Been checking for good rates for friends looking to go during FD, but haven't seen anything yet that's worth the drive from up North!
