Dh picked this restaurant, or rather it was a compromise. I am kinda picky and we really wanted to check out AKL and Dh wanted to try one of the restaurants. We thought Boma was a good compromise thinking there would be stuff for both of us, but I am not to sure :(

It does have a large variety on the buffet, both for the adventurous as well as the not-so-adventurous. Also much of the spicing has been toned down due to people usually not interested in high spice levels.

I agree, there is a little something for everyone.

I would recommend being a LITTLE adventurous and trying something you might not ordinarily go for.

We have a dd thatlives on hotdogs and bolgna sandwiches even she found plenty of things to keep her happy at Boma. Her whole outlook on the buffet was if nothing else I know I will like dessert.

It is a great place. You will be sure to find something you like.

The great thing about Boma is that if you don't like something you tried, you can try something else. If all else fails remember these two words: soup and dessert.

I am not an adventurous eater either, but I really liked BOMA. Much of the food is recognizable and I found very few dishes that i really did not like. I wish we had eaten there a second time, in fact. It really was that good. :cool1:

I was nervous about Boma too as I didn't know if there would be any food that I liked there. I was VERY pleasantly suprised. The soups, salads and meats were delicious. I could have made a meal on the soup and desserts alone and left full and happy. Even my meat & potato husband has stated that this is now his 2nd favorite behind CA Grill. Give it a try...

Be assured you will find plenty of great food at the Boma. My DH and I were a little nervous at first, so one night we asked if we could walk around and check it out before deciding to eat there. The CM's were great and we made a PS for the next night. Since then we have eaten there 6 times and have 3 PS for our next trip. My DH loves the wonderful prime rib and pork tenderloin, I love the salads, curries :teeth: and soups, plus the desserts are the best. Also don't forget they have a wonderful breakfast buffet too!!

Boma is sooooo yummy!! I was there the end of Jan. during a one day trip to Disney. We went in at 7:00 without a ps and waited 2 hours for a table. I really really wanted to try it because of all the good reviews I have read and begged my boyfriend to stay. Well, it was totally worth the wait! The food is wonderful and it lives up to all the hype. We both agreed that this was one of our best meals ever at Disney. You will love it!!!!

I'll be the naysayer.....as I often am in Boma threads. We didn't like it. The soups were excellent, but other than that, the food wasn't great. The much touted desserts in particular were disappointing. It wasn't too spicy, it was just - not great. Meat was too dry. Salads weren't fresh.....it was buffet food.

And honestly, it was perfectly acceptable buffet food, but my expectations from threads like this had been set higher than buffet food, so it was my great disappointment last trip.

Crisi,
Maybe you were there on an "off" day ? Sorry you didn't enjoy the visit there. But perhaps it just wasn't for you and I can respect that.
We've racked up 6 visits there over the years and the prime rib was always melt-in-your-mouth moist. We love the salmon and chicken too. We feel it's one of the best buffets around. I just had breakfast there (first time) on Sunday 2/13 and thought everything was great. The Frunch was awesome--wish I could make that !

Another Boma lover here. I would suggest trying it. There is lots of variety so you can take "taste" size portions of things to try.

Another Boma lover here. The tomato soup that have had in the past (and may still have) is amazing! I really wish I some on these cold Boston nights.

Possibly it was an off night. But part of it was the difference between restaurants. We'd eaten at Le Cellier and Narcoosee's already that week - both have far better food. Boma was a buffet....and it wasn't a bad buffet. But there is a big difference between salmon under a warmer and salmon cooked and brought to your table minutes later. Even great buffet food means buffet expectations - and I probably would have liked it fine had I had buffet expectations.

Boma is certainly appropriate for three and five year olds, as long as you recognize the limitations of buffet dinning with kids too little to handle their own plates. Which was another problem for us - we made far too many trips to the buffet for our kids which kept the meal from being enjoyable.

There is definately something for everyone and the food and service are fantastic. You will love it!

They do have a section for more ''all-american'' type stuff for kids-like mac & cheese, etc.

88Keys - my DH and I took our DD2 to Boma this past January and she loved it. The CMs were fantastic and they give the little ones crayons and coloring pages to help pass the time. Our DD is not a picky eater, so long as meat is involved somewhere along the line, but for the ones who are, Boma has a section of kid-pleasing favorites available -mac & cheese, PBJ sandwiches, chicken fingers, that sort of thing. I think you'll find that it is entirely 3 and 5 year old friendly.

DW and I have been to Boma twice and can't wait to return. It has easily become our favorite WDW restaurant. I love their spare ribs and can make a meal out of them alone. DW, who is not a big meat eater, loves all the salads and grain dishes and we both adore the desserts.
