NEMO: Up to #24 All-Time Domestic

My only point is that other then Disney raking in cash from the current deal Nemo does nothing for Disney. It just exposes them more and more for the weak company they are. If Nemo does end up taking the the top sport from (whoever) it only shines a light on Pixar not Disney. Is that any good for Disney. If Pixar bolts and goes someplace else what does Disney have then? If Pixar stays and cuts a better deal from themselves what does that do for Disney(other then money wise) and their content. Its not as if all these years with Pixar producing great movies has rubbed off on Disney. They haven't seen the light. Disney is not going to be able to live off the Pixar deal they have to get on the ball and produce movies the quality of what Pixar is doing. All indication is that they have not gotten that message yet. So in Summary yea Pixar! Same old Same old from Disney. Is distributing a movie really bragging rights? Anybody see my point?

Well I wasn't sure where to call you and ask if I could post.

Why would someone care if a place the love is slowing going down the tubes? Ummm....you ponder that and get back to me.

Yes, Virginia, apparently every thread on the DIS R&N board does have to end up here.............................

Europa,

It's not a question or whether or not you can post, just that you have VERY strong opinions regarding how badly Disney are doing. Do you really think that slagging them off ALL the time will make them stand up and listen? EVERY company is doing badly at the moment. I work in the leisure industry here in London (Top 5 London Hotel).

All I saying is, please don't always look at the negative. Surely you MUST see some things that they are doing right! Yeah, they may ONLY have a distribution deal with Pixar but the spinoffs???? The deal has made a lot of money for both parties.

There is so much wrong here that I don't know where to begin.

-Ok First off every company is not doing badly at the moment.

-I'm sorry that you don't have strong opinions maybe you should get some.

-It's quite well know that folks at Disney do read the message boards. I also vote with my wallet by not going until they get their act together.

- Good things....Yes Mission Space I've heard is a great ride ...yea! Disney and whoever paid for it.

-What Spin offs there has been one Sequal TSII. Do you have any doubt in your mind that if Dinsey produced a Monsters Inc. II that it would be the quality of work that Pixar does?

If you don't like reading my negative comments may I suggest you use the ignore feature here. As it gets old having to defend you position to every Johnny come lately around here that wants to spread a little pixie dust and tell us its not all bad.

Car 5 -As soon as Disney gets back on the right track I'll be the first person back in car #1

Europa,

See, you're so wrong once again. Surely, because I have strong opinions is the reason I posted in the first place. But as usual YOUR right and EVERYONE else is wrong. I wonder how many other people feel like I do..............

Don't bother with a reply. You, oops, sorry IT just isn't worth it.

Please point out where I'm wrong as so far you've only said that my post were negative towards Disney.

Well, if you base your entire opinion on box office take and profits...but unfortunately box office take doesn't necessarily reflect on the quality of the movie. Sure Pixar make great 'Pixar' films for Disney, but as far as I'm concerned, most Disney films have not decreased in quality.
Tarzan, Dinosaur, The Tigger Movie, Atlantis, Emperor, Treasure Planet, Lilo and Stitch, were all excellent films most of which did quite well and entertained many in typical Disney fashion. And when you look at the list you see quite a diverse group of films, each with it's own look/feel and presentation...
classic, groundbreaking, sweet, adventurous, new-age, futuristic, and one centered around a weird alien.
Even Neverland and Jungle Book 2 both managed to revisit 2 classics telling 2 entertaining new stories in the process.
Atlantis and Planet (especially) were both victims of competition (Shrek...another great film and the Harry Potter LotR steamroller, which also crushed Star Trek:Nemesis).
---
I had a big problem with Rabbit's hate (actually planning and carrying out the kidnap of Roo) in Piglet's Big Movie, so I would call that an (my) exception, even though Tasha enjoyed it.

Darn it Jeff you had me until you said "Jungle Book 2."

I'm curious as to what you think we should use as a guide? As much as our side likes to preach quality, entertainment and Walt's philosophy, I don't think Disney will stay in business long if they don't have financial success and profits from their movies. That success can best be gauged from wide audience acceptance of the movie. Not the Disney faithful grasping at straws to make a movie seem better then it really was.

I don't get it.

Merely a guess but I think that Scoop thinks that I hate Disney and love Vivendi so it was a shot at me. Neither could be further from the truth. I could be wrong.

Sorry to hijack the thread I’m done...you may continue your praise of Disney's distribution abilities.
