Nemo, (SPOILERS!!!!!!)

This ride has quite the line, over a year after opening. I went on it for the first time last week, and I have no desire to go on it again. The florida ride is really similar, even the technology used, except its not underwater in a submarine, and its nowhere near as popular. I should note the queue in Florida is stunning, so much better than in DL, one of the better queues at WDW actually and I generally like them at DL better.

Anyways, I get that the submarine is cool and you're underwater, but the vehicle is so barren inside, the queue is about as dull as it possibly could be, which is important considering the length of time spent in line, and its basically a dark ride with a different vehicle. The way you just look out the little portal seems like such a waste as it feels like a tiny tv screen, making the rest of the vehicle irrelevant. Bigger windows or something inside the submarine could really spice it up, I understand thats impossible now, and given how the ride works it may destroy the illusion, but I don't know. It just seemed really lacking to me. Its not a bad ride, I'm just stunned by the lines considering the ride. Is it just a case of location location?

Or, am I missing something and just not buying into it enough? I doubt i'll ride it again unless Im there with someone who hasn't, which is saying a lot, only other ride that falls into that category for me is the Tiki room. Maybe because I was on the florida one first and it meant so much wasn't new to me is the problem. I also really don't like that projection or whatever they use for the ride, feels like a cop out. If they're going to effectively use variations of tvs as a ride, it better be like TSMM with some kinda twist like interaction, 3d or both as they did there, I loved that ride btw.

lol Nemo wasn't my fav either and I'm glad we got on one of the early subs without having to wait more than 10 min. I was bummed about the tiny porthole windows too... guess I was expecting more. And I was also suprised by the projections or whatever... surprised not in a good way. It was a cute ride but not worth even a 30 min wait IMHO. However, I'll be going again in a few months with my ma and pa and they'll probably want to ride it. I'll try not to stew too much over the wasted time!!

Totally agree! Just returned today and this was the biggest disappointment as far as rides go. Luckily, we went to magic morning and waited only 15 minutes or so.

I found it hard to see, the "story" hard to follow, the proximity to other guests a little, uh, stinky, and the special effects not that special. The Nemo ride at WDW is much cuter and the queue is much cooler (literally and figuratively) and the line short.

Wouldn't do it again unless going with a real Nemo lover and then wouldn't wait over 10 min.

I thought it was cute, but it was pretty cramped in the submarine. Got a kink in my neck from looking out the small window. Combine that with the long loading/unloading process, I probably won't make it a point to ride again unless the line is super short.

Nemo is probably a "must-do" for a lot of people who remember the submarines from the "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" ride, as they used be be. They were shut down for years before re-opening as Nemo, so people who went to DL as kids are eager to try the new, spiffed up version. However, since it's such a slow loader, it has horrific wait times most of the day. It has given rise to the "Nemo Stampede" first thing in the morning, when about 70% of the people entering the parks are running straight for the subs and you are in danger of getting trampled! We thought we HAD to see this ride, so we participated in this debacle on one of our MMs, getting to security at 6:10 a.m. so we could be first in line at a turnstile. What a fuss. SO not worth it. I mean, it was a a cute ride, but just not worth all the scheming and dashing, even though we got on the first sub and were done by about 7:25. By the bye, the sub is never really completely underwater; that's an illusion. The sub never dives.

One little known fact: if you'd like to see the show but don't particularly care to be in the cramped submarine, you can ask the CM to view it in the Marine Observation Outpost (viewing room). It's for disabled or claustrophobic people who can't or don't want to get on the subs, but you don't have to be one of those-- they won't ask you why. I have heard you can ask a CM at the exit and you don't have to wait in the line. Others have said you have to wait in the line like everybody else. Personally I'd just go to a CM and ask; I bet you don't have to wait. It's much faster, and you just watch the same video that they show on the sub, on a big flat projection screen.

i thought i was the only one that just did not get the allure to nemo??? my cousin finally rode it and she agreed with me, but really I thought I was the only one that felt it was not worth the wait. now we waited 25 minutes for toy story midway mania and that was worth it, I totally enjoyed that. .. but yes the nemo was a big disappointment for us. .. the only positive for us was it was humid the day we were there and my hip was throbbing big time, got on the sub, and the AC helped my hip. .. i know wierd, but it did. . .

I just did the observation room last Sunday; I did not have to wait in the long line, they did however, make myself and a few others who were waiting for the room wait about 10 minutes. Not sure if another group was in the room (I don't think so)--I think they just wanted to make sure we waited for some length of time. Some people walked up just as we were going in and were admitted with us immediately. It was kinda cramped--one guy stood. One sat on the arm of the chair. Anyway, as others have said, the "show" is cute but I was really glad I didn't stand (or sit on a scooter) in line for it for 30 min. plus. The storyline seemed to go all over the place--like it couldn't make up its mind whether it was a documentary or a Nemo show. LOL.

I haven't been able to ride the sub yet myself. I just can't see waiting in line that long, so will probably go on it during the down time. We did see the show through the observation room, and thought it was cute.

I remember the subs, and as a child they were one of my favorite rides - just because it's a submarine. I imagine the kids will like the ride, too.

I rode it once when it was new and again last June. It's ok. My kids haven't seen it yet so I will go on it with them, but honestly it is NOT a "must see" for me. I will go on anything if it's walk on or the line is REALLY short but otherwise I'll skip it.

We saw Nemo in Nov and were also disappointed. All week we were there the lines were 60+ min. so on our MM day we sprinted over first thing and had to wait about 15-20min. I am so glad we didn't wait the 60. It was OK but I found it to be like watching clips from the movie through a little hole. We are going again in 7 DAYS and I doubt we will stand in line for this one again.

I also was disappointed in Nemo. I was excited about the subs coming back but the ride was very unexciting.
And I didn't even have to wait in line to ride (long story )

I concur. It's not worth more than a 20 minute wait at the most. It's a been there, done it ride. Nothing to write home about.

I was loathe to admit it but I actually did too! Particularly at the end of the ride when all you can see is cement 1 inch from your window and you're stuck waiting for subs to clear ahead of you. Disney being so sensitive to this I was surprised there wasnt a warning, but it is a pretty big space I guess. I still didn't like it for some reason, Im not sure why. I think its just that there are all those people a couple inches away and there is nothing to look at but that bleak interior.

Well, I am not with you all. My family enjoyed the ride, and my boys really got into it. My 11 year old was really interested in figuring out how Disney makes it seem so real. It made is seem even more authentic when water was dripping on his head from a leak of some sort. Do you think they planned that?? My 5 year old thought he was underwater. My husband loved the special effects. I just enjoyed it all, including my memories of the old ride. I remember the sensation of really diving and how "real" it felt to me as a kid.

We did the morning magic stampede, and hardly had to wait, but the run for the line about killed us all, and it was life or death avoiding all those crazy parents with those giant strollers running for the ride also.

So, all that being said. I would not likely wait in line for it, as I just don't like waiting in line, but I would plan for riding it without a long wait.

I think it is a cute ride, and being underwater does give that technology something a little more special then your typical dark ride.

However I'd never stand in line for more then 15 minutes for it. We never have either, even during the first week it opened. It's all about getting to the gates early and getting on that first sub for us, if we want to see it.

People wait for Nemo for 2 hours. It truly is amazing. The ride is cute, fun, and nice, but I don't "get" it myself. However, every day, in 90 degree weather and direct sunlight, people wait for their ride.

Maybe it's the thought of missing out? Or maybe through the eyes of a child it's a completely different experience. That's part of the magic, right?

I have very fond memories of the submarines, but I also recall getting in them and there being music and singing. Getting in these is like getting into a real submarine. Dreary and repressive.

I actually like the ride. Looks as real as I remember the old ride looked (not very real to an adult, but as a kid I sure couldn't figure it out!).

The only problem I had was the same as EnnEss's.

That's not good at all. Would be even less good on a REAL submarine, but pretty bad (and a bit mystifying as the roof is above-water) on the ride.
