Needing opinions please! Gran Destino Tower or Pop

Thank you all! I appreciate the help! I'm going to stick with GDT....With having more time at the resort and needing a more comfortable room Pop wouldn't be the best choice of the two. We also enjoy having more dining options. I am super excited!

I hope you have a great trip. We were booked at GDT for next May, but I had to move dates, so we switched to Ft. Wilderness cabins. We’ve always wanted to try that out.

Thank you! I hope you enjoy the cabins! We have always thought of staying there as well, but never get around to trying them out. I actually thought about heading over while we are there in December and looking at the decorations! I know you can rent a golf cart there, and that just seems like so much fun. The horses are also one of my favorites.

I'm a fan of the pop century since they upgraded the rooms. The dining options are limited. To be honest CSR dining is not great either. At the Pop you have the option of jumping on the skyliner for other dining options

Have you tried 3 Bridges and Toledo? Just curious as I read good reviews about them, especially specially 3 Bridges.
And if bars/lounges are of importance to OP, I think the ones in GDT look amazing!!!

I would Consider what you could do with the extra $500 that you would save by staying at POP. Could/would you stay an extra night, eat at better/more expensive restaurants, rent a boat, go to the waterpark, etc. Could you reinvest that money into doing more fun things on your vacation. And how would that rank compared to spending it on the room.

I really don't think we would change anything as far as our plans while there by saving the extra cash. The Maya Grill is a hidden gem at Disney. They have awesome margaritas!! Even better than La Cava IMO.

I really don't think we would change anything as far as our plans while there by saving the extra cash. Since some things are restricted due to covid I doubt we will be eating at the usual TS locations that we normally do. I know during the summer we love the waterparks, but will probably skip them this time. Covid has been planning our vacation for us unfortunately this trip.

then I would stay where you you want. The only downside is the transportation assuming you won’t be taking a car or using a service.

I would stay at the POP as we did in 2018 and 2019. I do not think towers feel Disney. I like resorts with a few floors, buildings clustered, plenty of theming, and beautiful grounds with greenery.

I watched videos and Coronado looks like it has gorgeous grounds. Very lush. We look forward to walking around.

GDT is definitely not over the top with theming, but definitely has Disney touches around. But yeah, less than other hotels.

I love the Pop. Their rooms are great, with the pull down 2nd bed. But if there is more than 2 ppl (unless they are children) staying at it, then I would stay at the other resort.

I see what you are saying...Coronado does have some nice grounds but you don't need to use it if staying at Destino. We enjoy the morning walk at the Pop from our room to get coffee or a refill of soft drinks through the really nice green grounds, not down the elevator to get it and out the front to the busses. Sounds good that you are going to take the extra time to walk the other parts of Coronado.

I've never stayed at Pop, but we stayed at GDT earlier this year and loved it. The rooms are very spacious and the hotel is very pretty, more of a deluxe feel for sure.

Stayed at Pop alone for a week. LOVED IT! But three adults in that room....... Not so good in my opinion. Traveling alone, Pop was perfect and cost effective. Party of three adults, I would opt for larger accommodations. Have a great visit at the land of magic.

If I can afford it, and it’s within the budget, I always go with a higher tier Disney resort. I would stick with GDT.

Definitely stay at the Coronado. It is a lovely resort and especially at the holidays. If you are looking to save a few dollars, you can check out the standard rooms, that aren't in Gran Destino tower. They are typically substantially cheaper and you still get to enjoy all of the same amenities.
