Needing Help on Narcoossee

We will be at Disney in December. It is my daughters Graduation trip and she is getting to do ALL the planning which is driving me crazy. On 12/15 we have tickets to MVMCP and here is the question:

If we are at the park all day and make an early dinner ADR at Narcoossee, can we wear what we wore to the park that day or is there a strict dress code?

Tank top or ripped jeans and offensive language t-shirts its no. But If you wear t-shirts and shorts its ok!

We are doing the exact same thing! I have a 5:35 reservation at Narcoossee's before the party and plan to wear khakis or jeans to the park that day with a nicer top (like a short sleeve blouse or a polo for my hubby). At every signature on any given day you see a vast array of attire. I figure the signatures around the MK area are probably used to slightly more casual attire on party nights.

There is a requested dress code. But you will not be denied admittance in park attire. That said, we choose to dress up a bit for a Signature Restaurant. I wear linen capris and a nice blouse. DH & DS wear dress shorts and a collared polo shirt. It is a special meal worth a bit of an effort to dress up a bit. We would wear this on this park day. JMHO

As others have said, there is no strict dress code for Narcoossee's (or any of the Signatures, except V&A). This is the wording on the Narcoossee's webpage:

Dress Code
Guests at this Signature Dining experience are asked to adhere to a business casual dress code.

Men may wear slacks, jeans or dress shorts and collared shirts. Jackets are optional.

Women may wear dresses, skirts or dress shorts with blouses or sweaters.

Not permitted in the dining room are tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing and shirts with offensive language or graphics.

You will see a wide range of clothes at any of the Signatures, but my general sense is that most folks do try to make an effort to wear something on the slightly nicer side. That being said you still see plenty of shorts (on the dressier side), t-shirts (hopefully without holes), and other theme-park outfits. For my family, we often bring a change of clothes and change in the bathroom before going to dinner. That way we can be comfy during the day in the parks and still be on the dressier side for dinner (and by "dressier" we mean khakis and polos, not suits and dresses).

To the OP -

I will throw this in - we have eaten at Narcoossee's on every trip for the last 10 years (about 20 visits to Narcoossee's) and this is the one signature restaurant where we consistently see people dressed much nicer. On our trip last November my teen daughter wore jeans and a very cute sleeveless shirt from American Eagle and I wore black shorts and a mostly solid t-shirt and we looked and felt VERY out of place. Most of the ladies were in skirts and dresses, men in khakis and a button down and their kids dressed in either a summer dress or khaki shorts and a nicer shirt. I am sure there were some who were "dressed down". but we did not see them.

That will be just fine. We dine at Narcoossee's quite often and there are ALWAYs plenty of folks in shorts, t shirts, polo shirts etc. And sandals and sneakers are perfectly fine as well.

Some folks do dress up--and some do not. It won't matter to the restaurant!!

How to put this? The REAL dress code for just about every WDW Sig is the same:

"Do not look like a bum" .

That may sound cryptic - but it's actually pretty easy . Being Disney, the restaurants are not horribly surprised that you have been at a park . They are GLAD to have you . As one would expect, things that just about every human KNOWS are going to bother someone (like a T-shirt that says "Humans - not just for Breakfast Anymore") are going to be frowned on .

The classic clean jeans, clean polo or t-shirt, clean shorts? PERFECTLY OK . Sandy and I (in the summer months) often show up in Khaki shorts & polo's if we are coming right from a park, and going back. This gets easier for MVMCP, as it's late Fall anyway... and for the EVENING, we often want long pants.

But the bottom line? Just avoid anything that is really going to offend someone .

EXCEPTION: V&A is SERIOUS about a more upscale Dress Code... and I can not blame them at all .
