Needed prayers from our DVC friends *Update* by MIL Post # 244

More wonderful news! DMIL moved into a regular room last night. We werent expecting that to happen so quickly. Her memory is strong now. She doesnt get confused about things like before. They at some point will put a smaller trach line in. A PT evaluation was done and determined she could handle a rigourous workout, 3-4 hrs a day. She will be able to stay in the hospital to do this. We are so glad she wont have to be relocated. A swallowing test is going to be done today. She still has swelling inside her neck area so they want to see what she can handle, hopefully to get her to solid foods.

I was getting worried for Tammy since my mother went through a similar situation, but her's did not have a good result. This is great news. Hopefully it won't be too much longer and you'll be bringing her home.

DMIL is eating solid foods now, certain things of course. Tammy said they are grinding some of the things up, to make it easier to swallow. They are moving her to the rehab floor sometime today. Not sure when the rehab will start, but things are happening so fast, it is mind blowing!

She was evaluated , and she will not have to go through speech therapy. I told her last night that she had one foot out the door already! PT told her probably 2 weeks therapy based on what they see now.

Doctors, nurses, pastors all tell her the same thing, that she has made a miracle turnaround for what she has been through, based on their experience I dont feel I have the right to share her experiences, things she has seen, etc. that she tells us, she will share those with you folks. What she has seen, she explains in vivid detail without wavering, or changing the details. And its pretty amazing! I do believe that prayers have been answered. And you folks have been a huge part of that.
