Needed Honest Opinions....

In high school I used to make chocolate candies. I made a really cute sleigh and reindeer for christmas one time out of chocolate, with the help of a mold of course.

If you're really artsy, can you draw different things on just the cups?? Make them kind of personalized.

It sounds like the kind of thing I might buy if I knew you and had had them before and knew they were really delicious and better than the norm or if i had had them at an event and again they were totally better than the norm. It is not the type of thing I would ever seek out though. It also sounds like something that could cost far more to produce than it would be worth it to me to buy (thinking what I spend when I make homemade peanutbutter cups myself).
It is definitely a niche market. Do you live in an area where people tend to entertain a lot and spent a lot ion entertaining?

Around here, there are lot of peanut allergies. Schools have banned anything containing peanuts. So, no, I wouldn't buy them.

A man that I used to work with would make his own peanut butter cup candy and decorate them for holidays. He'd bring them in for us to eat. They definitely didn't look like the traditional Reese's cup. I didn't care for the filling. It wasn't bad or anything, it just didn't have the texture that Reese's does and, in my mind, Reese's are pretty perfect in taste and texture.

I can't even imagine a liquor mix-in with peanut butter. It sounds bad to me but who knows??

As to the peanut allergy issue, I think if you are trying to sell to larger groups (functions such as company parties, weddings, etc), you will lose SOME business due to the high risk of contamination possibility.

This.

Good look OP!

OK, since the OP didn't proide pics, I found my own :rotfl:. I Googled "gourmet peanut butter cups" and found some good links:

Those look really cute, but personally I'm not a fan of peanut butter and my children have friends with allergies, so I probably wouldn't order them. However, I think there is a market out there for them.

You can buy them in a candy shop. When we are by a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory or something similiar my dd gets a peanut butter cup.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory has "Peanut Butter Buckets" and they are about 5 bucks. They are pretty big though.
