Need your ride expertise.

I would say Big Thunder, but I guess it depends on what the main thing about "roller coasters" a person doesn't like. Yeah, Splash only has a couple of drops and the rest is a mild float through, but if you're not a fan of drops then of course it's going to be way worse for you than the other three mountains. That last drop is pretty intense.

To me Thunder is the most easygoing since it's smoother than the Matterhorn, and not in the dark like Space Mt. (can't see where you're going, darkness creates illusion of going faster than you actually are). It also has two "breaks" in between the action where you are going up lift hills, so it can be a good place to catch your breath.

Which of these rides would you say is the most mild? Space mountain, splash mountain, big thunder railroad? This is for someone who doesn't really do roller coasters anymore but wants to conquer the fear and ease into it. She can do Matterhorn bobsleds no problem.

In my opinion, it would be:
Big Thunder Mtn RR tied with Matterhorn
Splash Mtn
Space Mtn

My reasoning:

BTMRR doesn't have any "huge" drops. While it goes "fast," it's no faster than the others. There's a small bunny hill or two that makes your belly bounce a little, and one "big" climb to the top, but that's it. It's tied with Matterhorn because of that big climb at the beginning, which looks very daunting, but the rest is pretty tame.

Splash Mtn would be next. While it only has 2 little drops before the ginormous one, if you are afraid of that huge drop, you don't enjoy the rest of the ride, because you are thinking, "When is it going to happen? Is this *it*?!?" The anxiety (anticipation, LOL) is what makes that ride so scary for some people, I think.

Last is Space Mtn. You hear people screaming, and you can't see what's going on. You have no idea what's coming, so you can't "prepare" yourself for it. Again, no "huge" drops, but you have no idea that there's only a few little bumps, because you can't see what's going to happen!

I'd give serious consideration to watching a ride-through or two of each to get a better idea. For me, I was most scared of Splash Mtn initially, because I could see that drop, and worried about it the whole time. But, once I knew where/when the drop would happen (ie, hearing "Going to the Laughing Place? Why aren't you laughing?" and seeing the vultures means we're going to drop), I *loved* the whole rest of the ride. And, likewise, once I watched Space Mtn with the lights on, and knew I would lean right mostly, and that the big left turn would be the end, made it much more enjoyable.

Now, Tower of Terror, that's the one that really got me....

Yep, with a bit of motion sickness, for tot. :faint:

My favorite is Thunder. Second is Matterhorn, then Splash, (I HATE that drop, so so scary. feels like you are going to fall out). Last is space mountain. I've done it 3 times and will not go on it again. I want to see where I'm going to die:(

Thanks for all the replies. It really helps to determine which " big" ride she's ready to conquer next. I think we're gonna go with BTMR.
