:worship: I have been a long time reader and I've come to heed the advise very well of you savvy money savers.

With that said, I also know that because most of you are great budget keepers that some of you may find my question as frivilous and Im prepared for all types of feed back.

I have been through a lot these past few years and really have decided to look forward not back and what makes me happy is the thought of planning a trip to Disney. I have never been to a Mickeys Not So Scarry Halloween Party and I really want to go to one in 2011 (God Willing and of course providing Disney Still has them then). Point is -- I have to save save save for this trip as I dont make a whole lot of money but I am comfortable.

I will be staying at my mothers time share so Ive got housing covered, and I will most likely drive ... my main question is for tickets and spending money, food money.

Is it safe to buy like a 4 day pass at a time as I can and just not use them until I go? I understand if I dont use the tickets they really dont expire until a certain ammount of days after the 1st swipe.

Next, what is this Disney Card I hear about that is sold at Kroger? Is it like a Disney Debit card that you can keep adding money to? Or is it a Gift Card that you have to buy in increments and you must get multiple of them?

I just need a way to keep my extra cash I set aside for my trip away from me. Not that I want to give you any bad impressions of me but I am most likely proned to feel sorry for my sister or a friend who calls me sad and cant pay something, I am too weak to not offer over my money ive saved for what i consider :my fun: --- so yes, weak link I am .. Id hand over my money knowing I wouldnt get it back most likely and Im over doing that. I want to have it someplace I consider it spent so to speak.

Any ideas are GREATLY appreciated.

Yes you can buy your pass early and just hang on to it. Prices usually go up in August, so you might want to try and buy prior to any increases.

As for the cards in the supermarkets, from what I have seen they are gift cards with a pre-set amount of them. But you can order a card with any amount on it from disneyshopping.com (up to $500). I do not know if they are reloadable (as in you can add more $$ as you go along in time), but I'm guessing they are. We have purchased Disney gift cards AT Disney before and added more $$ to them while we were there.

Definitely buy your passes early....you should check around for prices. You might get a better deal through Undercover Tourist or using AAA if you have it. Also, as the pp stated, they are preloaded gift cards at the supermarkets, but if you have a Disney Store near you, you can get a card and add money to it little by little. Typically, I add a little money to the card every month and it doesn't feel like as big of a bite out of my wallet when I finally spend it. This way you only have 1 card instead of carrying around a bunch of $25 or $50 cards.

.

That's not being weak...that's called having a kind heart and caring about others. To bad there aren't more people in the world like that.

There is nothing wrong with needing to do something only for yourself once in a while. I hope you have the time of your life on vacation.
