Our group has 1 day in Disneyland and 1 day in California Adventure. Most have not been in more than 10 years!

1) We have 3:50 p.m. reservations for Oga's. We also plan to do Savi's and Droid Depot, although not everyone will participate. We do have a couple of kiddos who will be making droids but not lightsabers. What times would you recommend to schedule Savi's and Droid Depot?

2) I believe the usual times for MSEP is 8:45 p.m., Fantasmic at 9 p.m., and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. While we are still waiting for the actual schedule to come out, is it possible to do all 3 in one night? If so, where would we need to find a viewing space? We would not be able to stay for any later events, as 9:30 p.m. would already be iffy for the young kiddos and seniors.

3) Our California Adventure park day is a grad night. Would we still be able to see World of Color? (I realize no show times are out yet, but hoping someone may be able to provide some insight.

4) Are you able to view World of Color from Lamplight Lounge?

5) If we are able to squeeze a third day, which park would you choose to repeat, and why? Ages range from 5 to seniors. At WDW, the kiddos loved ROTR, Soarin', Big Thunder, and Toy Story Mania. The 5 year old likes Spiderman and the 8 year old girl likes princess, of course.

Any help you can provide is appreciated!

I would schedule these before Oga’s, leaving at least 45 minutes between the start of the last appointment and the Oga’s reservation.

If you can’t stay later than 9:30 you can’t see all three. Fantasmic used to have two showings, one before fireworks and one after. If they did that again, you could theoretically see all three if you saw the MSEP, then fireworks and after that saw the late Fantastmic (provided they had two shows). But it would plan for either the MSEP followed by fireworks or Fantastimc followed by fireworks (watching from your place by the Rivers of America) at most.

3) Our California Adventure park day is a grad night. Would we still be able to see World of Color? (I realize no show times are out yet, but hoping someone may be able to provide some insight. I don’t know the answer to this. Hopefully someone else can chime in.

4) Are you able to view World of Color from Lamplight Lounge? Yes but only if you’re sitting in the right spot and it’s not a good view even so. And you would have to get one of the last reservations of the night (it’s hard to get ressies here currently) and get lucky with your table. I would not plan on this.

As much as I love California Adventure, definitely Disneyland. There is more to do, especially for younger kids. Plus you would have another chance to see one of the nighttime shows you missed the first day.

Any help you can provide is appreciated!
Answered above to the best of my ability. Hope you have a great time.

I think trying to do all 3 with kids and a senior is a tough ask. You could sit on the left side right near the opening at It's A Small World but then you're running to New Orleans Square and missing the opening of Fantasmic or getting a terrible standing only spot. The only way to do all 3 is to stay late, do the 9pm Fantasmic, 9:30 fireworks and 10:45 MSEP.

World of Color moves to 8:45 pm on Grad Nights. May 13th is the first Grad Night and the entertainment schedule shows WOC at 8:45.

It's better to watch WOC from the main viewing area. There might be dining packages coming back soon.

Always do 2 days at Disneyland. California Adventure while great isn't worth a 2nd day, IMO unless you have park hoppers.

1. Savi's and Droid before Oga's makes sense, but I haven't been to Galaxy Edge yet. It'll be magical for you however you schedule it!

2. Really impossible to watch all 3 in one night and not feel stressed out unless you plan on a later viewing for one of them. You can watch MSEP and then hangout to watch fireworks afterwards, or do F! and watch fireworks afterwards, but especially if you have the kids and a senior doing the race between viewing spots would probably be too stressful to be worth trying all 3.

3. I'm glad someone else answered the Grad Nite question because I had the same question!

4. There is no good view of WoC from Lamplight. you can see some of the colors and fountains, but you really can't see the images well, so it is best to go to the main viewing areas. Still crossing my fingers they bring back dining packages/dessert party for that!

5. DL for sure for your 3rd day. DCA is a lot of fun, but DL has so much packed in, especially since you will be spending some quality time in Galaxy Edge, that doing a 3rd day in DL makes the most sense. Plus it would solve your problem of how to see all 3 nighttime shows! Hoping you can make the 3rd day happen!

Thank you! It's such a last minute trip (at least for us as we normally plan a year out) that we really needed some help. I was thinking we couldn't do all 3 DL events, but was hoping there was some way to accomplish that.

Actually, we have 3 seniors! I guess we'll have to choose between the 3 DL events - really difficult when some in the group haven't seen any of them.

Good to know about WOC time change for grad night. Didn't even think about checking times for earlier days. We'll look out for the dining packages - do you know when they'll be available to book? Having a larger group makes it more difficult to get reservations so I guessing we'll need to book as soon as they are available.

Doing 2 days at DL would solve the evening events problem, but the younger ones seem more inclined to do CA twice instead.

Thank you for your response! Was hoping that we could see WOC from Lamplight, so that our seniors can sit and enjoy! Will look out for the dining packages. Years ago we did the dessert package so I know you have reserved seats. Do the any of the dining packages offer seats, or are they all standing room only? I thought they were all standing room only before, but maybe it changed? Hopefully?

In the past, the dining packages for WOC just provided access to a reserved section of the viewing area but were still standing only. The only way to have a seat for the show was the dessert party you did before.

That said, they have not yet announced dining packages, the dessert party or even how viewing in general will work for WOC (will it be on Genie+?) so who knows.... (though there was a post today from someone who was told that the dessert party will be returning... just no details).

When they last did them, only the dessert party included seats. It can be rough on the seniors to first be sitting on the ground, and then standing for the show, so hopefully the dessert party will return!
