Need your creativity...40th birthday for wife and heading to the world with no kids!

I went with just my husband for my 40th birthday and it was great! The kids were not too happy though. I have also gone with a group of friends. One of the funnest things to do is to go to each resort on the monorail plus take the boat from the Contemporary to Wilderness Lodge. We sit in the bar area at the Polynesian and get a specialty drink, then we go to the bar at Citricos and get a drink and appetizer, then over to the Contemporary but go directly to the boat and go over to Wilderness Lodge and get a drink and appetizer. We finally end up in the bar area at the California Grill just in time for the fireworks where we love the flatbreads and another drink. When we do drinks at Epcot, we always stay and sit and finish our last drink until around 10pm. All of the people have left the park except for the diners in different restaurants and it is so much fun to walk around in the empty countries on the way out. We then walk over to Todd English Blue Zoo at the Dolphin and get these amazing drinks plus really good appetizers. One cocktail had an orange on fire and another had dry ice poured over it. They serve dinner until 12pm too!

Well worth the stay at the Epcot resorts if you want to spend most of your time at Epcot

Maybe you should consider picking up a TiW card and save 20% on your drinks if you think you will be spending a grand.

Please see my 40th birthday trip report in my siggie.

We also stayed at BWV. (Awesome)

We went to MK on a very busy day on my actual birthday. We did that on purpose because well...I was leaving my youth kicking and screaming. We ate in the castle that night. Meh...it was ok. In hindsight, I would have done something else. The big thing though...it was March...there were a lot of Spring breakers...and MK was a high attendance park for the day. I didn't want to be brought to my knees with 90 minute waits.

Do make sure to have one of the characters wish her a happy birthday over the phone. I forgot how to do it, but its in the thread.

DO wear the birthday button EVERY DAY!! It is so wonderful to have so many people happily wish you a happy birthday. Keep in mind they will giving you cupcakes right and left. In hindsight, I would have taken the pin off during some of our meals. I certainly don't need daily cupcakes.

One last thing...very important...your not getting any younger. My b-day was on Tuesday. That meant we had been at Disney for 3 or 4 days. I got out of bed on my 40th day and felt 150. That's not a good feeling on your 40th birthday. Make sure she takes it kinda easy the day before!

Since you are staying at the BW now (great choice!), you might want to go to JellyRoll one night. That place has always been a blast for us, and I think it would be even more fun with a party of 9 celebrating a 40th birthday!

I have done it twice with my wife while the grandparents watched the kids at the other parks and its awesome ...both me and my wife are beer drinkers and I dont know if its the heat or the lager sized cups that disney offers but it sneaks up on you quick so watch out there... with that being said I would highly recomend the tequila bar in mexico not only for the beer and shots but for the quick drinking food (chips and salsa nothing to heavy etc) and the break between countries cool down because if you plan to do it during the day which I would say is more fun you definitely will need a cool down.. good move on switching it to boardwalk also.. what we always end up doing is walking over to HS after our tour because it seems more exciting to go to a new place after a few plus they serve beer there and if you feel really up to it you can do tower of terror the only thrill ride I would recomend while drinking I am sure others will disagree but my wife or I have never had a problem if thats too much there even the great movie ride is much improved.. have a great time!!!
