This is a couple in their mid 30's - married before - both have good jobs - they have most everything...... and suggestions on a good gift?

What about new sheets or towels, maybe matching robes? I know they are more shower like but they are items some people will not purchase for themselves. Where are they going on their Honeymoon? Perhaps you can get them something to make it special :confused3 .

Good Luck

I got a GC for a car wash a month as a wedding present and frankly made fun of it when I got at (as a stupid little 24 year old). But I tell you, every month when I went and got my free car wash, I thought of the person that gave me that gift and was thankful. So assuming they have all the normal household items then I would get them an "experience gift".

A popcorn popper (maybe the mickey mouse one?), popcorn, Junior Mints, a Blockbuster GC and some movie ticket GC to a convenient theatre

A GC to Victoria's Secret, a bottle of champagne, temporary tattoos ;)

A GC to Ben and Jerry's, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, marschino cherries (hmmm that sounds naughty after the previous post! Maybe you could combine them!)

A GC to a night at a nice hotel to recoup from the wedding

A Merry Maids (or other housekeeping service) GC

Tickets to a concert for a favorite band/singer/speaker

Any of the "of the month" clubs...fruit of the month, flowers, etc etc

Money, money, $$$ ~ we were 26 and 36 when we married....already had a home and most things, but we registered for mor updated and matching.....money was the best gift...came in handy on the honeymoon.

Worst gift..........some huge "ball" that was sequined that went in the yard! I finally sold it at a yard sale a couple weeks ago for $5! -----I don't mean to sound ungrateful as we are yard people, but this was truly horrid!

One of my favorite gifts to give is a picnic basket with nice wine or champagne glasses, with accompanying wine or champagne.

Penzeys Spices has nice gift crates, if the couple enjoys cooking. Even if they are not huge foodies, then there are salad dressing mixes, great peppermills, etc.

Another idea (not mine) is to give them a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant.

CASH AND GIFT CARDS. Hands down the best presents we recieved. Just being honest.

We got a lot of stuff we registered for, but if they don't have a registry, and they have already established a home, I would go cash, gift cards, or something personalized- maybe monogrammed sheets/towels, or a frame from Things Remembered or something along those lines.

As previously mentioned, we gave a Bride and Groom a bottle of champagne and a GC to Victoria's Secret. They LOVED this present!

We've also given the really wonderful bathrobes (the couple had registered for these).

Another idea is a GC to a really nice restaurant near where they live.

One of the things we recieved from my sister who was my MOH - now keep in mind she had no money when we got married because her and her husband had just bought a house - was for our first anniversary - she gave us a weekend in a very nice hotel. (My sister had been married about 1 year when we got married - and she really regretted not doing a weekend away for their first anniversary - it was the no-money thing.) We loved that!

CASH

A close second was some artwork that we had registered for and a gorgeous silver frame that we used to put our wedding photo in.

We just got married last October, both in our upper 30s, established home, kids. We didn't expect gifts but boy did we get them. Here's some our favorites:

Gift certificates to the movies, with popcorn and soda included. We loved this one.

Good towels. Something we never buy for ourselves. Really good, thick, big towels.

Egyptian cotten sheets. Love, love these.

Money & gift cards

One of my favorite wedding presents was a nice set of luggage. Towels and quality bed linens are always in good taste.

If you want a gift that will be practical - go for the cash.

If you want a gift that they will remember you by - go for that special gift certificate...night at a B&B, spa get-away or restaurant g.c.

I can't tell you who gave me the cash, but I remember the gifts!
