In April my twin boys (who will be turning 6) have their birthday 3 weeks before our first every visit to WDW:banana:

My wife and I have decided that this of course will be a "Disney Birthday", and want to load them up with WDW items for the trip.

Other than Mickey Mouse Ears and T-shirts.......what else are good suggestions to get them:confused3?

Thanks,
Guy

It will be a fun tiome for you all!

We celebrated my sons birthday when we went last year.
First of all, when you check into your room (if you're staying on property) ask for birthday pins for your boys. They can wear them the entire trip if they want - it's fun in that people stop and say happy birthday and such - especially CMs. They also have "My first trip to Disney" pins l - you should get that for them s well - they're free. If you're not staying on property you can ask for them at any guest relations stand in any park.

Also if you make any dinning reservations be sure to tell them you're celebrating a birthday - even breakfast. Most times they will bring out a cup cake and sing Happy Birthday. In some restaurants for an extra fee you can have a centerpiece on the table for them (it's like a big pop up card that say shappy birthday) At the character meals we went to (Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, Norway) he got a card signed by the characters.

If you're on the dining plan they can put a blanket notice on all your reservations that you're celebrating a birthday. If you want to make one meal a special one you can order a birthday cake for your table. It's an additional charge - something like $21 or so. You can call Disney dining reservations and ask about ordering a cake.

You can arrange to have something special delieverd to your room. There's a WDW Florist (I searched it online last year) plus other places that will deliver gift baskets to the room - I'm sure there are many people on these boards that can recommend someone.

Depending upon how much money you want to spend for something special you can book a fireworks cruise. My husband booked an Illuminations cruise for our anniversary and the boat was decorated with a banner and balloons and it was the BEST view I ever had of Illuminations. They also do cruises for the Wishes fireworks - but these excursions are expensive.

We also tried fishing last year. My son (who was 3 then) had alot of fun. It's all bass fishing catch and release. If you're interested there's usually a 20% off coupon included in the Birbaum book if you have it or know someone who has it.

I think the most fun for the kids are the pins and the attention - my son loved having Happy Birthday sang to him at almost every meal.

What a wonderful way to celebrate their birthday - I'm sure all of you will have a great time!

You could get the autographs online at the disney store, and start them on pin collecting by pre-purchasing a couple of lanyards and some pins off e-bay (also costs less than to purchase in the park).

I would also get a special light up toy for the evenings and some glow sticks that they can use for evenings. At out $1 store i found glow swords and wands with different colors that my kids liked-even for just one night.

I was also able to find spinning Buzz Lightyear's for $4 on sale at our Disney Store rather than buying the toys at the parks.

Sorry, I gave suggestions for when you get to Disney (but even if they're birthday is 3 weeks before you leave, you can and should still get the pins I figure as long as it's within the same month!)

Maybe you can get them each a Disney knapsack and fill it with stuff for the trip and ride or flight down. Pens, books, crayons, etc. are all good things to keep busy on a plane or long car ride and there are many Disney ones out there. How about Disney pjs for the trip or maybe a disposable camera for each and a small photo album. Disney dollars are also good so they can buy themselves a special souvenier.
