Need to vent

Then I’m really confused because if she wasn’t worried then why would she care if someone took off their mask for a minute to take a photo? Then it just sounds like a case of “why do you get to take a picture when I don’t” instead of health and safety concerns. We all just have to make decisions for our own families, but there is never going to be a guarantee that you won’t get get covid at Disney even if masks are worn 24/7. We still touch stuff, our kids stick their fingers in their mouths or up their nose and, strangely enough covid can still spread when we are eating our lunch and dinner
Maybe the original poster said it because they are jealous that others don’t have to follow the rules. I don’t know. I’m not going to assume.

You’re new assumption in this post is that I care what you think about mask wearing. That is a false assumption.

The OP specifically said that it “aggravated” them.

So it’s not okay to be aggravated by people openly violating Disney policy? Especially one that is a matter of public health and one of the reasons WDW is even able to be open right now. It’s required by Disney and required by the CM unions.

The bottom line is that it doesn’t matter if you think it’s safe to pull your mask down when no one is nearby for a photo, it is 100% breaking the rules Disney set to open. It doesn’t matter if you think the rule is arbitrary because you can eat lunch or dinner maskless and kids lick their hands. The rules are clearly stated. CMs are specifically stationed to discourage and enforce this behavior. It’s flat out disrespectful to CMs and it’s okay to be annoyed by it.

And since this is a discussion board then I would assume it’s ok to add thoughts of many different viewpoints. If everyone just agreed with everyone else’s opinion then it wouldn’t be much of an open discourse.

Right, so I shared my opinion ... 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wouldn’t be much open discourse if everyone just agreed with you, right? Goes both ways.

I can't wait to get out my popcorn when Disney opens up a waterpark. How are people going to react and judge all over the rest of the resort when those guests in the waterpark get to walk around and do water rides without a mask on all day? Every single line will be properly spaced for distancing, but no one will have a mask on. Pictures everywhere with no masks. They will be able to get a drink (with a mask on while standing in line), and then be able to drink it with the mask off as they walk off. It will be amazing, because as if by magic, you can go around a water park without the mask, but as soon as you leave to go back to the resort, it will be required again.

I can’t speak for anyone else but I wouldn’t go to the areas of Disney where masks are not required.....no pools, no indoor dining, no water parks, etc. If I go to those places and I’m upset by people not wearing masks then that’s my own fault. I knew the rules ahead of time. If I’m in line for Haunted Mansion and someone takes off their mask then I feel justified when I’m frustrated because they aren’t following the rules.

I’m not looking to judge anyone. I just want to stay safe. It reminds me a little of taking a child to the movies. If I take my daughter to see a G rated movie and there is bad language in the movie then I can be offended. If I take her to an R rated movie and she hears bad language then that’s my fault. The rules are there for a reason. People count on them to make decisions. So, no masks at water parks aren’t a problem for me....no masks in lines and in resorts are a big problem.

😂 Ironic. Haha. The water park is closed because number of cases are too high. Number of cases are so high because people don’t wear masks. Love the logic. “Can’t wait until it’s safe enough to open the water park... I’ll show them”. 😂
