Need to switch from Poly because of Budget-Pop or CBR-Help Please!

CBR does not in ANY way compare to the Polynesian for theming. You will be sorely disappointed if you go to CBR expecting it to anything like the Poly. Perhaps rather than free dining, you'll be offered the 40% off code which works out to be a better deal then free dining when staying at a deluxe. Or call and see if you have the pin code associated with your name.

So true! Don't book CBR expecting it to be "like the Poly."

Save the money, stay at POP! We like the values much better than CBR. You'll enjoy your stay either way, though, so don't fret too much about it. :)

We just stayed at the CBR last week. After looking at the bus lines for POP I don't think we will ever stay there. :scared: Those lines were massive.

And all of the high school/teen groups stay at POP. We had one group at CBR that was near our room (I think they were college though) and they are rather annoying! :scared1: The teeny bopper cheerleaders yelling and cheering at the POP or All Star bus stops were annoying.

Hi and a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to everyone who answered my post. I really appreciate all your advice and words of wisdom, as I've never seen either resort for myself.

When several of you warned against the trouble of a split stay (repacking and unpacking, 2nd check in, etc.) I realized that the many hours this would take, esp. with the young children, was not conducive to a relaxing vacation. Plus, we would be paying a whole lot more.

After a lot of thought (and flip flopping, LOL) I decided to switch to CBR, mainly due to a slightly larger room (we'll need to fit a portacrib, too), more actual bus stops, and the tropical theme. I am totally aware that it will not really be the same theming as the Poly, but it seems like it may just be close enough. It does seem relaxing! My favorite vacations pre-Disney were in the Caribbean, so this seems like the best of both worlds. It's a bit more than the Pop, but we are saving almost half of what we would have paid at the Poly. I think we will definitely try the Pop at some point, esp. with all your positive reviews on this thread and hope to get back the Poly someday, too.

As for the actual switch today, it was a little tough. Yesterday the CM had said he didn't expect values and mods to sell out for weeks, so I figured I had a little time-maybe a few days. When I called today to make my actual switch, the CM said there was no availability, at all, in any category at CBR! :scared1: He just kept telling me to check back in a few days and that this was the most popular promotion, etc. Then I asked if there was a different "pool" of rooms for the bounceback free dining, and he said he'd have to transfer me to that dept. to check on that set of rooms. After 25 minutes on hold, the next CM in the Bounceback dept. checked that pool of rooms and said that not only was there no availability at CBR, but there wasn't a single room at any resort available!:scared1::scared1: So, then I ask her if she has the ability to check the General Public free dining to find me ANYTHING, ANYWHERE that's cheaper than the Poly. She tells me that CBR is available and would I like to switch to that?!!!!!!! HUH? I was excited, but so stunned that the other CM told me the general public free dining had no avail. there. I don't know if it was really sold out already and something just happened to open up at the moment or what. Who know's what happened, but we're now switched. :yay:

Again, thanks for all your input!

Congrats on making your decision! :thumbsup2 Sorry you got the run around by the CM's on the phone, but at least you got what you wanted in the end!

As long as you go in knowing that it is not the Poly, you will be fine. :goodvibes We love the quiet, relaxing, tropical feel at CBR. Have a great trip!

Good for you! I'm glad you got what you wanted. You made a great choice. As far as the CM that has happened to me before. It kind of makes you wonder??? Well, enjoy and have a wonderful time!

This will be my families first time to Disney, and I wanted sooooo badly to make that first trip the Polynesian, but for now it looks like All Star Music.

But I'm still not ruling out the Polynesian.
