I posted previously about the chances of having a wait come through but after hearing that it is not easy (the system looks for the whole block not individual days) I have begun calling everyday to try and get at least a few of the days. Is there any other way? Do DVC members ever list dates they are getting rid of somewhere? Is there like a wishlist? I know it's a shot in the dark but I really want to stay there. It is my first trip ever to California (never been farther west than Chicago!) and our first trip to Disneyland so we want it to be special. The dates we are looking for are Jan 21-25. Thanks for any and all advice!

Holly

Are you looking for a studio only? Or have you tried 1- or 2-bdrms? I know for our dates, we have 2 studios booked for Jan 26-30, except the last night for 1 studio is waitlisted. Each time I've called though they've commented that there are 1-, 2-, and 3-bdrm units available. Not much help to me since I don't have the available points to upgrade! I have been given much encouragement about the WL coming through, so I'm holding out hope...and booking a back up plan just in case!

I don't know of a wishlist or anything. The only way it would work for someone to have those dates and you actually get them would be to rent the reservation from them I think. If they canceled, the next person on the waitlist (should) get the room. I don't think they would let the person cancel and move the reservation over to you. Someone may correct me if I'm wrong, though.....

Why not just book a hotel room there? I did check and there's availability for those nights.

We are trying to save money, we wanted to use our DVC points since we are already "in the hole" 7k for this vacation (15 day PC cruise)!

Holly :)

Maybe you could rent your points and then use the cash to book a room there? Or..if you really have points to dump, you could stay at the Disneyland Hotel..not the Grand, of course, but still very nice. :)

Have you thought of the DL hotel? You can use your points there and you don't have to pay the $95 fee. It is more points but it's an option.

BTW that cruise is worth every penny you spend on it. We went in Aug 08 and it is our all time favorite so far.

That's right, Disneymoon0909. You can use your DVC points for DLR hotels, no fee required. It will be a regular hotel room not a villa, but it is still veryhnice. Check out the point charts they are very "affordable".
