We went this April for our first time. We booked in Jan and got a great room and were able to get pretty much all of the TS meals we wanted. ( including CRT ) Can we expect to find it that easy if we go in April 08 and wait to book until Jan again? I just don't want to be suprised to find everything is booked.

I've never been to Disney in April but friends have. I think it depends on what week in April you go. If it's the very 1st week it might not be crowded but I'm sure it's busy the rest of the month. Up here in the Northeast schools have a week off in April. In 2008 I think RI has the 2nd week and MA has the 3rd week (but this past April they both had the 3rd week off). Our friends went during school vacation and they said it was very busy. Can you take the chance that you might not get every place you want? If you don't want to take the chance then book as soon as you can. If it doesn't matter then wait until Jan.

We usually go in April during our Spring Break. This last year, I made ressies for all but one of our TS meals. I ended up spending an hour with the concierge at my resort, while he looked up every single TS restaurant that took the dining plan. EVERYTHING in the parks was booked and we're only a party of 3. We ended up heading over to CS for dinner at Maya Grill. It was a great recommendation and I'm glad we did it, but I don't want to spend that kind of time working on it again when I could be enjoying the parks. I wouldn't do it 180 days out, but I certainly wouldn't wait until the last minute either.
