hi everyone -- things just worked out for us to book a trip to go in nov today!! yay! we have always stayed at a value...this time we are going to try a moderate...and I'm kinda overwhelmed....which one do u recommend and y? there will b 5 of us....me, hubby, 3 sons...ages 10, 6, and 2...thanks!!!!

For a family of 5 you can stay at POR in a preferred room to get a Murphy bed and all fit in one room. Not sure what the other mods have that accommodate 5.

Check out www.portorleans.org. From what I understand only the Alligator Bayou rooms will accommodate a family of 5. Two queen beds & a Murphy bed. We love this resort. There's also alot of threads on here about this resort that give u alot of information. I don't think any other moderates can accommodate a family if 5 but I could be wrong.

Yes, since your youngest is under three, and can sleep in a pack and play, you can stay at any of the mods. Have a good look at all of the info and photos of all of the resorts and just pick the one that looks the best for you and your family. You really can't go wrong with any of them.

I just changed from CBR to Coronado because of bed size. CBR has doubles.

if i had to choose a mod, i would go with POFQ for the compact size. have a great trip!

I agree that POFQ has the charm of a smaller resort. I have stayed at Coronado as well and loved it. It is slightly larger but the updated rooms, awesome pool and lots of food options made it a perfect place for us. I don't like Caribbean beach simply for the size of it. Way too big and hard to get from point a to point b without a bus!

We are staying at POFQ in December. It will be first time there or in a moderate in general. We have previousLy always stayed at POP. We are so excited!

All moderates can give you a pack n play for the 2 year old or bed rails but I think that POR FQ is the best option because it is made to fit 5 people:cool1: Good Luck!

Actually POFQ and POR mansions are occupancy of 4.

POR AB is set for an occupancy of 5.

I would pick Coronado Springs - great pool, good bussing, comfy beds, good food court - you will have to do Port Orleans Riverside once your little one turns 3 so I would pick something completely different this time and avoid POFQ/POR altogether.

Have you stayed there? I've visited there, never stayed there. Large resort....comparable to CBR, but CBR is more kid friendly.

As a PP stated earlier, Save POR for next time , when your lil one is older...Then you'll have to stay there anyway..I would suggest CSR...Both your older kids will love the main pool, The Dig site will be fun for all, as well as the arcade....Bus service IMHO is the best out of all the stays we've ever had...Including Deluxe...Pepper Market & the Maya are great food choices as well cafe rix...The theming here is very appealing, authentic & soothing, and it's a nice realxing walk around the l;ake, with hammocks & gorgeous white sand...

Also has a nice spa, & the Biggest Hot Tun on all WDW properties..:thumbsup2

The privacy door slides are great if you have early risers & sopme that sleep in...It'll seperate the dbl. sinks portions of the bathroom w/ the sleeping area...Huge plus.

POR is a close 2nd though & they have the added dimention of the boat to DtD, but I couldn't stand the Lousy bus service from here...All in all you won't be disappointed in either...Have fun choosing.

CSR, CBR are a bit large, not sure your family would like walking. We didn't. It was way too hot. POR is pretty big also but you should ask for Alligator Bayou section, as it is close and has. Rooms for families of 5. POFQ is the smallest and most quaint moderate, not sure if they have rooms for families of 5.

We have stayed at both CBR and POR. My wife and I liked POR better and food court is definitely better. But our kids loved CBR...they really loved the pool and playing in the sandy beaches. You can see the Epcot fireworks from the Martinique beach. We didn't find the walking bad at either resort.

thank you all for your awesome responses!! i love the dis...so much great info...i think we decided on csr!!! anyone have room suggestions..need to call in reservation tonight! :) thanks!

All of the rooms were recently renovated so they're all pretty great. As far as making a request I'd think about whether you'd like to be close to main building with food options and front desk or if you want to be near the pool. There are three bus stops so being close to a bus stop isn't a prob. The pool area is near the back of the resort across the "Lake" and is prolly a 5-10 min walk to main building and pepper market. The grounds and trails are all very nice so you may enjoy the quiet walk from back there.
